Are there mystical writings with an intentional good-humored and funny undertone but at the same time preserving the natural metaphysical profundity?

That part in the Odyssey when Vulcan exacts revenge for being made into a cuckold was pretty funny; I was surprised at how modern the humour was.

Nothing about laughter in the verse you provided.

The issue with laughter and humour is the levity in it. Eternity in heaven or hell is not only at stake here but Humanity was so fallen and wicked Jesus literally had to be tortured to death to redeem humanity.

With this there is great reasons to be fearful, joyous or sorrowful but not to laugh and be humorous.

Look at James 4 laughter is a literally sign of worldliness which all Christians are called to reject.

Not sure what sterne has to do with this either, you can be a Christian and be humourous

Goodnight Moon is unironically the most zen book I've read. Margaret Wise Brown completely transcends the subject-object duality, describing a world made only of simple appearances unattached to self-identity.
