/lit/, just a small question that needs answering for me. Is "held in a cage" a verb phrase, or is it something else?

'Held' is a verb.

'In a cage' would be a prepositional phrase.

Which I guess would make it a verb phrase. A verb phrase is a verb and all its modifiers, basically the same thing as a predicate as >>1646883 put it.
