This is obvious but what's less obvious to many people is that Enlightenment has its own destruction built in. Demographics are destiny, and the kindest, most equitable society is paradoxically one in which a strong hegemonic race preaches Enlightenment but never really lives up to fully extending the franchise to various "oppressed" groups; life is best when this aspiration remains only an aspiration. I see it as natural selection on a scale of societies. Liberal societies are perhaps more pleasant to live in, but what's happening in Europe has convinced me that no liberal society can survive against a religious one. They simply don't have enough kids to survive, and their acceptance of illiberal populations will be their downfall. Perhaps it's sad, but I guess it's the way of the world. The only way to avoid this is to go the China route (as far as I can see), and Westerners don't have the will to do that. Maybe you missed the part in my previous post about how we're not doomed because while the rot is here, we have avoided many of the same mistakes, and when the US goes under this will have quite a political impact. Many Americans, and later Europeans, who are forced to migrate east, if only to Russia and the like, will have their minds changed, and the remaining US with its feudal pockets of whites/wealthy mystery meat will face an awakening of their own like South Africa's. Meanwhile people here will be forced to take that into account, but who knows, that part is where it gets trickier. Still, I would bet quite a bit on brain drain from the US and Europe soon, and those migrants will find that the countries they are moving to are less hospitable to their liberalism.
