I'm not a troll, but it's getting less common to find some oldfag who tell this story, but apparently a person (male) very, very similar to Butters was a usual visitor of /LGBT/ many years ago, before the 2010's, in the early days of 4chan. And this person posted some pics that looked like where taken in the same place as the one I posted and the others that exist about her, and in the back they used to be piles of books and mentioned that he liked reading.

Supposedly under this idea she transitioned before the normalization of trans rights. Dunno if true, but I've seen it many times in a non-trolling space. Could be other person, and I fully support her, I'm a trans girl myself. But I don't hide it.

I really like her, she's smart.

Anna Karenina has lessons for us all.

I'm pretty much only friends with men, but you should care about the opinions of the women you date. Otherwise you're in for either dishonesty or heartbreak. Specific views aren't terribly important and can change, but she needs to have a broad life philosophy that aligns with yours. Anna Karenina is a good test.

I don’t get girls desu. I met a girl on tinder before quarantine. She was actually cool but quarantine. We chatted from time to time. A couple of months ago she began streaming. Not knowing this one day I told her “hey let’s play L4D” and she was down.
We played a bit, she said something about some random guy and called him a “simp”. As I heard that word I felt off. I wasn’t feeling it and my voice went from “hey how’s it going” to “ah sure, I guess”.
Still, I tried to keep contact with her. I have a tendency to ghost girls in general, but still had those faint memories from April when we had an actually cool conversation about reading and stuff.
She left me on seen or answered me after hours. After two times. I got the clue, I stopped speaking to her.
I messaged her a little later as a genuine commentary on a post she made about current issues. She answered I said thanks and that was it.
I downloaded tinder again a couple of weeks ago. Deleted it on the spot, it made me sick. Was kind of bored so I downloaded it again today. Went in and the first thing I see is a super like from her. I send her a message as a “what’s up?” She sends me a “wow” I send a “how’s it going” and then nothing.
I don’t t understand girls. Am I stupid?
I honestly think she fucked up while swiping, I don’t want to be a simp. Or any kind of guy that would walk through broken glass for a slight chance of affection or some shit. But I don’t get this, and it puts me thru a lot of stress.
I really needed to write this down. I fucking hate most social interactions, they’re so impractical.

Online dating is pretty much a waste of time. You will almost never find a girl who is both interesting and ready for a long term emotional relationship. There is an incentive for people on dating apps to boil down their personality to the lowest common denominator which I absolutely hate. I have considerably more luck when hanging out at bars, but in this time of Covid I understand the need for online dating.

I made it my policy to find at least one good date before I deleted Tinder and Bumble. For Bumble this is slightly easier. My strategy was basically to make a very niche bio:

"Two truths and a lie, I took tea with the royal family of Yugoslavia, I accidentally joined a Leninist cult, and I lived through a Latin American military Coup. Hit me up if you want to talk about Gnostic secret societies." 5' 11.5" This was accompanied by a close up, a gym pic, a picture of me with friends, a picture hiking, and a piece of religious art/gospel quote I like. Note, the picture of you with friends is important to women.

Response rate was somewhat low, but the quality of the people I matched with was considerably higher. The bio was designed to weed out anti-theists and people who care if you're 6'. The matches tended to be considerably more interesting people then you would get with a more generic bio, and they tended to be more interested in me. The bio provided a great opener and could lead into one of four good stories I have regardless of how they responded. Afterwards the important thing is to respond relatively quickly to keep the convo flowing and keep the conversation interesting. Always try to set up a date as soon as you have a good rapport going. I was a fan of drinking establishments for date locations, but coffee shops should also work if you're under 21.

I actually wrote this copypasta and several others

>be freshman in college, first week of first semester
>only book i've ever read outside of high school was Infinite Jest, I never read any real literature. I was not aware it was regarded as such a meme book in the literary world. I genuinely thought it was the #1 greatest book ever written, and I only read like 3 books, 4 if you count that i read IJ twice.
>i would talk about it at parties with girls.
>i would bring it up in my english lit class, question why it isn't on the syllabus, i'd call out, interrupt the class. i'd go to office hours and try to bring it up to my instructor in front of the other graduate research assistants and they all just looked at me like i was insane
>no matter what the topic was in any essay, i'd connect it to IJ somehow, mainly because I viewed literature as 99% Infinite Jest and 1% people making poor attempts to create something as good (meanwhile having zero points of comparison to IJ)
>my breaking point was when i attended a seminar from some famous lit professor. he said something along the lines of Infinite Jest being good, and everyone laughed, and he smiled, as if he was sarcastic and I was really confused.
>i straight up interrupted him and asked "um why was that funny?"
>i saw a few of the grad research assistants from office hours stifling their laughter, i felt something was up
>speaker says "well it's a good book but the people who rave about it only do so because they've never read much else, like upper class white kids."
>fuming i say "that's not true at all"
>speaker says "if you rave about it, have you even read Pretentious Angst by Ernest Milton?"
>i blindly respond "of course i have, it's a classic"
>the entire room bursts into booming laughter
>i look around completely dumbfounded
>after 30 seconds of loud laughter which felt like an eternity, i'm beat red, speaker says "if you're still confused, that's neither a real book nor author, case in point."
>i storm out, switch majors the next day
>4 years later, senior year, at a bar talking to a qt3.14, she says she's an english major, i'm a marketing major, i bust her balls for not having any job security (100% taking out years of my STEM roommate busting MY balls about job security)
>her friend arrives, also an english major
>"oh i remember you, you're the Infinite Jest guy!"
>she tells her friend the story about the seminar and what i'd do in freshman lit class
>qt3.14 says "and now you're a marketing major, lecturing me about job security and commercialism. you've literally become the very thing Wallace criticizes in Infinite Jest", and they both laugh
>i storm out
>creates 2 year existential crisis i've yet to recover from
