Why do women have such terrible taste in literature? I tried to fix a literal John Green fan but

>at my friends house
>his sister is reading John Green
>at least she is reading instead of on her phone, never see her check her phone once
>tell her she's a smart girl
>she smiles and says thank you, why do I think so?
>because you're constantly reading instead of checking your phone
>she smiles and says yes I can't stand how much people are always looking at their phones and I love books
>chat back and forth and explain to her about the canon
>she seems interested and tells me she would like me to give recommendations
>tell her though in my experience smart girls don't read John Green
>she says jokes on you
>look at her confused
>She says I don't have any experience and holds the book in front of her face and looks at me over the top
>tell her if she has time I would love to help
>she says okay and asks if I could pick her up after school
>sure
>end up spending the whole afternoon trying to teach her the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner
>she actually memorizes a decent amount and seems proud of it
>come over later that week and see her reading John Green

You can take the girl out of the pleb but you can't take the pleb out of the girl

I'm not expecting her to read everything dense, I gave her a poem which she actually said she liked and told me she read three times but the original habit of reading YA is the thing and it's not about reading something so much as not reading garbage

Not everyone likes literally every book. If you want to convince someone to stop reading YA, find books specifically tailored to her tastes. What do you think is going to happen, if you just throw The Greeks at her she'll magically decide modernity is evil and ride your dick and have 8 kids with you? If she likes romances, give her romances that are actually good. Something light to start like Murakami's short stories or Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

I was walking back to my table when a waitress walking in my direction fervently smiled at me, then walked me back to my table continually talking about how she'll hurry up with my meal and then touched my shoulder when she brought it being very friendly and considerate.

Was she attracted to me? I know women use social ques subconsciously, but are some people just friendly?
