i used to work in a chain used bookstore, was kind of gay. work at one location that was pretty laid back, but two others that were decidedly NOT laid back, and was all about hitting numbers and all that shit.

My main gripe about B&N, is that they carry shit paperback versions of books, even when there’s a nicely printed Everyman’s library edition that costs about the same.

Was planning on writing a paper on Plato and there was a store near my school so I decided to stop by on the way home after class. They did not have a single work by Plato. The restaurant was the Sycamore Diner in Bethel - the hamburger, homemade root beer/onion rings may just about be worth the trip from western CT. In that area, I'd also recommend Deborah Ann's Candy/Ice Cream shop, the Tusk and Cup coffee shop, and Hoodoo Brown's BBQ all in Ridgefield. Northern Fairfield County would be a bit of a hike, but it might be worth a stop on your way to, say, New York City, though it's not exactly on the way there.

These shelves are full most of the time and are occasionally missing one or two books, meaning that they aren't actually selling. It's always the kids books section and cookbooks that sell in Target.
