Some people will strongly disagree with me, but I also get strong Schopenhauer vibes from Hemingway (especially in The Old Man and the Sea when he describes the brutality of the world as the man kills the fish and himself in the process only for the fish to be eaten by sharks who are all killed too, it really reminds me of Schopenhauer's description of the world as a cycle of bloodshed).
