if you went to a public school you can still be /lit/ afterwards but you will be heavily delayed and disadvantaged in doing so. I know people in some countries say that reading 1984 or brave new world or whatever in high school is extremely basic but where I am from we never read anything that wasn’t a young adult novel. we even watched the Billy Elliot movie for english and how the story related to journeys

Yes, but a general 4 year high school history course is not going to be able to do that no matter what the material is. You can't cover what life was like is 1850 urban Russia and also 1920s America and also 1730s France, and 14th century Italy. I consider it the obligation of the /literature/ course to cover the necessary background to any novels being read. Assuming someone will understand every novel's social context based on a 4 year broad survey of human history targeted at 15 year olds is pretty silly.

Glenn Loury and John McWhorter (both are based off the face of this planet) totally eviscerated the 1619 Project. It's a really pathetic work of revisionist journalism masquerading as history. This woman is truly awful for propagating racial divisions with her fraudulent woke-history.
