So say you actually wrote something. Now, what? How do you move beyond you being the sole person who ever reads it?

Show it to another person. Next question

You are not the same person that you were yesterday so if you read it everyday it counts as if multiple people have read it. You are welcome

Make many copies, litter.

how do you have enough intellect to write something decent and completely lack any sort of organizational, networking and business skills?

this.

you go around and show it to people. it's gonna be shit but that's alright. everyone's shit at the beginning: read first works of any authors you like and you'd see that. anyways, show to people and write more and more and more; and do try to finish things before or throwing them away. unfinished projects will never be finished, there never was a project in the first place.

I find the idea of networking disgusting. It's alright if you connect someone with whom you have similar interests and ideas, but the idea of connecting with someone purely on the basis that this person could help you advance in your career is disgusting. I even imagine myself in the shoes of gatekeepers and to be honest the first thing I'd look at is random submissions and the quality of their presentation, you don't have to read the whole thing but usually people who are coherent and intelligent in the presentation of their work are the same people who probably wrote something good. I cannot envision that I would use my friends or my own taste as the ultimate judge of what should be published, it is despicable to reject people on this basis when your entire job consists of making sure the best quality, the best intellects adn the best works make it to the forefront. I am completely alienated from whatever it takes to "make it" in any subjective field that relies significantly on inter-personal relations. I despise the idea that somebody just decides to publish someone or advance someone's career on the basis of their work being sort of decent and them being friends with them or having their work recommended by a friend of theirs. Being in a position of a gatekeeper is a sacred duty which should put everyone in terror that they are actually doing their job. But I know the reality is different, I just don't have the stomach to do what needs to be done to be part of this social networking game.

Then accept you'll be the only person to read what you wrote.
