Thoughts for reading while walking? I'd like to do this, but I'm always afraid of stepping on dog poo or something, and my arm gets a bit tired from holding the book. But doing this encourages me to read and exercise and go outside more. Any advice?

There used to be an autistic kid in my school that would read while walking everywhere. Read lame shit like Twilight too, even as a guy.

Have you tried audiobooks or podcasts as an alternative to reading? I can't stand audiobooks desu, but I've been looking into podcasts to listen to on my walk to the train station.

I know a lot of people hate em, but e-readers are really good for walking around and reading. Arms take longer to get tired than a book, and theres no awkward spine shenanigans. It should be said I never leave my house, so im not sure how they perform in sunlight.
I circle my kitchen island and read my paper and electronic books
helps me focus and stretch my legs.

Like that other guy said, try audiobooks. People trying to walk around in public while looking at something, be it book or phone or whatever, are a nuisance and danger to themselves. Every single person I've seen doing it had trouble walking in straight line, and being focused on a book could make you forget your surroundings and walk into traffic or somewhere where you could lose balance.

I don't particularly like audiobooks, and there aren't any for the more obscure books. I have nothing against podcasts, but literature is my hobby after all.

You're right about being a nuisance, but I live in a sparsely populated area. The streets are always empty. When I do read while walking, I can easily maintain a straight line. I guess I am a bit worried about walking into traffic, but the sound of moving cars has prevented me before.

People that do this are truly awful. It they step in a rancid pile of shit, I will laugh; if they sustain serious injuries or die due to a collision with a motor vehicle, I will laugh profoundly.

Just get audible. Audiobooks are good for commuting and working out as well as 'reading' at work.

I used to do this, but then some hood rat punched me in the face when I wasn't paying attention. It wasn't even a good punch, his half-formed fist slipped past my jaw and neck so most of the force dissipated. Now whenever I am walking outside I am on guard against such scum. I also now support dictatorship.

My grandpa used to have a small farm but the megacorps and the politicians ruined us. I am a second generation city dweller, there is no going back for me. There isn't even anything for me to go back to anymore. All I wanted was to read good books and live in a normal country, but we couldn't have that now, could we?

Correct, Regan ruined the family farm. My long term goal is to do remote IT work from a rural compound with razor wire fence and a concrete bunker home.

I am going to subsist on grifting until I can build my own business, but I am not going to forget any of this. After the current big shots pay for what they have done, it's the turn of all the Republicans and the neocons and boomers. You reap what you sow.

Lol, it's over. China won. The oligarchs realized that the end-state of capitalism is actually communism. Communism is a single corporate monopoly enforced via legislation and violence. The rich benefit most from industrial communism. This is why they are pushing socialist humanism over liberal humanism. It will only get worse from here.

They only larp as communists anon, they don't actually want to socialise wealth. Don't be a cheerleader for China either. They've become the same materialistic bugmen that we are. Just give them a bit more time and they'll be just like us.

Communism can only work at a tribal scale. It is impossible to work at a state level and will always be perverted by anyone in powerful positions. We are quickly becoming more like China.

I don't want to derail this thread anon. All I will say is that since China's market reform, they have also been becoming a lot more like us. If you have ever spoken to rich Chinese kids, you'll know. Canadian anons especially are aware of what I am talking about.

I'm obviously anticommunism and antiChina. My definition of communism is from Chinese communism. A state monopoly benefiting elites while controlling media and the proles. We are there and social media companies are complicit. I'm not protrump but the election was admittedly stolen via legislating mail in voting and fraud in key states. There is a Time magazine article bragging about it. We don't even live in a real democracy because the only votes that matter in the first place are in swing states due to the electoral college. I know that Chinese elite are as new money and stupid as new money anywhere. Escaping the middle class is just especially difficult today because of the corperate-governmental oligarchy.

All we as individuals can do is live far away from other people, do as little as possible for work, know how to grow food and hunt, and home school our children.

I used to on my way home from Highschool. I would only do it though if you really knew the route.
