I'm not at all familiar with what has been translated oversea on this subject.

Ok. Thing is, a romanian friend of mine is writing a book. I've tried google translate but except from a vague idea I feel the essence is lost.

Would you say that "Lolita", is cp and fap material? Then yes, "Adela" is too.
I wouldn't dare to say that one book is better than another overall (for any two books, if that matters). But some books have a better story, other books have more believable characters, another books have great dialogue and so on. "Adela" has great stuff in it, that could blow anyone's mind. If you want my personal opinion, the ending is magnificent and better than the closure in "Lolita".

In respect to movies, go to imdb, find the top-rated Romanian movies and go down the list until you find the first one that hasn't been translated (or doesn't have a decent translation).

Depends on where you're from.
Intellec property rights have a different basis in Europe and America (for example).
And from what I knew, after an author dies, his next of kin have aprox. 75 years of "ownership" of his works. After those 75 years, the work is up for public domain.

Which reminds me, I have this really old book, the year isn't written, but I've found a copy online and it said it's from 1909 (mine is the third edition, but in paperback and the one online was a hardcover which makes me think that my copy is older than the hardcover). It's entitled 'From Egypt -travel notes-' by Radu D. Rosetti.

The front is deteriorated, but the rest is good. It has plenty photos, and I think it'll make a nice gem to translate. Tho I don't know how to go about it since I don't think it'll stand a scanning session. I think I should just translate without scanes, or maybe try and ask nicely if I could use the library's photo-thingy (don't know what's it called exactly). I only have till page 208, but I know this shop that collects this series and I might be able to find it there.

100 pages? Don't know where I was looking then. Well, the pdf has interesting parts for me, but I'd love to be able to read a large part. As far as I know he's getting the entire book published in autumn. I'll tell him you like his style.

He wouldn't mind getting a small part translated. If his book turns out to be big thing in Romania I'm sure he'll get the entire work translated. But for only my entertainment, just the pdf would be enough. If you feel like it you're free to translate the 100 pages.

The Jaw isn't square you nincompoop, it is chiseled and almost diamond-shaped (Same jaw you can find on Vlad the Impaler).

I have the same jaw. My nose is rather different (slavic-ancestry). Lips, cheek bones, eyes, eye brows are the same as mine. (although my hair is nicer, thicker, and I am not balding and most likely won't)
