Beckett fucking sucks

My impulse is to say you've been filtered, but there is plenty of space to explore with Beckett. Short stories, plays, novels, even poetry. Is there something specifically about his writing you don't like, Anon? Do you disagree with the themes he explores? Or is this a purely superficial animus?

His characters reminds me of my own misery, they are tried and can't be cured because they exist. His writing is very sinister and I hate it the deep introspection of myself. I need something which takes me away from myself and not the other way around for fuck sake but his characters never leave my fucking head.

Fuck Beckett he writes like a sick freak.

He is soulless, just like Nabokov. I think these writers do appeal to a certain kind of people but not me.

Sounds like you're making a strong case for he's good at what he does.

when did 4chan become just a cry-for-help machine? we're all anonymous here; this kind of shit is supposed to be impossible, yet you faggots INSIST on making every thread, every post, every stupid response about how "I'm so miserable and le depressed I hate life."
the irony is these probably come exclusively from first world teenagers overestimating their intelligence, thinking that bourgeoise ennuis is some hallmark of wise men.
you're all fucking exhausting and boring

And what is the "adult" way of reading him?

Huh?

Jokes on you fag, I live in a small town of an south asian 3rd world shithole and I am a 27 years old NEET. Life here is absurd and there are few schizos in my town who talk and act like Beckett's characters. There is one schizo who never opens his mouth except when he is in pain and lurk the streets late at night and crush cigarettes on gas meters, kek.

D-don't know anon, I have never thought about writing before. But I feel Beckett in my internal monologue and I see his characters in a totally different environment and culture. For writing I have to translate the stylistic elements into my native language. So I have to deeply study Watt. This might be a good distraction from death.
Thank you for the suggestion.

I just read Molloy and it was very uncomfortable. It sort of felt like an uncanny valley story. Like it was almost an ordinary narrative, but "off" in a discomforting way.
