The core of the thesis is a commentary on the Myth of the Ages in Works and Days as a transhumanist text where the heroes transcend humanity by having a perfect human life on the isle of the blessed. I talk mostly about what Hesiod thinks a human is. He uses meropon anthropon to describe every race but the demigods, so it is clear he thinks they are something else. It is interesting that the posthumanism of the demigods is achievement based. Hesiod describes the perfect existance as the golden age, but they get destroyed and lack the agency of humanity. By using agency you earn the perfect existance which is inherently nonhuman as the perfect human would not be human. It’s hard to sum up 40 pages in a post lol I’m also drunk rn

I too am a salty academically oriented person who feels bad because no one cares about my work. but I examined myself and now I realize that I don't care about other people's work either, except on a surface level. My ex high school teacher (female young) was/is writing a thesis on an EXTEEMLY specific, and very much lost and forgotten, part of ancient greek poetry which I happen to have a very very personal(I cannot stress this too much), particular, great interest in, I had it before I met her. The subject is pretty much one of the very few things (perhaps the principal of things) in the world that I truly and honestly give a shit about, its one of the things I am obsessed with and I believe it will lead me to a greater understanding of the world and myself, whatever that might entail.
