I’m too smoothbrained for Yoong’s more esoteric stuff but his idea of Jesus as the archetype of the Self seems pretty incompatible with any orthodox Christian doctrine. I remember reading something arguing that Aion was basically a dualist manifesto, though I don’t remember many details from it.

I think the main issue of merging certain psychoanalytic or other religious concepts with Christianity is this: That you need to literally believe Jesus as the literal son of God, there is no getting around this.
You could reject all theological thinking that he was the son of God, but after this what is the point, what is Christianity at that point?
