Are there any books about jaded cynics refusing to take part in society and leading more naive and happy lives?

I don't want to live in a big city anymore, these people are vile and I was lied to. Only a very small percentage of the people I meet don't completely disgust me.

Cioran, but he certainly was not happy. I don’t see how you can be a jaded cynic and be happy at the same time.

Anyway, I suspect you might feel similarly about people outside of the city too.

Growth of the Soil by Knut Hamsun is about a man who goes into the woods of Norway and builds a farm with his hands. Has the clash between rural self-reliance and insufferable civilization that you are looking for, but there is no elegic or pastoral pretentions about this manner of life somehow being naive or more happy, since Hamsun isn't a complete hack.

Apart from that, the Cannery Row series (2 separate books) by Steinbeck is about a bunch of people who do not want to do the ratrace, but just laze about and have a good time. It is supremely comfy, but not particularly deep.
