It's weird that wherever you search the etymology of "Canaan", none of them mentions about this uncanny basis.
According to the Gospel, that the "Canaanites" derived from Canaan, the grandson of Noah. Canaan was cursed by Noah because his father, Ham, saw Noah being naked from hangover.
