For Westerners, it will be terrible. This is due to the simple fact that despite all its terrible realities, which have been droned on about at length in places like this and so I don’t need to go into, the American assertion is the only orienting principle in the Western world. Without “Americanism” Westerners are left with a random plurality of essentially nothings and nowhere’s. Perhaps that’s a good thing in the long run, but in the short thing it’s a rather uncomfortable development.

Germany has a big industrial base, but is demilitarised, meanwhile, France has the third largest nuclear arsenal in the world. Combine that with that with the seventh biggest economy in the world, and you have an undisputed great power.

More likely than not, the USA will withdraw from western europe (save perhaps the British Isles) as she continues to weaken. She will like to have strong ally in the region with basically shared values in their absence. Make no mistake, the future of Europe is French.
