I completely understand reading to expand your knowledge but at the end of the day reading or any other hobby for that matter is for enjoyment. Is it really that bad just to read what you find enjoyable be it fiction or non fiction?

Low IQ brainlet scum think that reading is some kind of unpleasant chore one must undertake in order to augment their intellect. They fail to realize that their intellect is, for the most part, hereditary and locked in stone. Reading is merely a pleasant hobby that serves as a catalyst for enjoying one's own imagination and inner world.

I'd wager that every subhuman who claims that "reading fiction is pointless" has no qualm about indulging in the fantasies of video games and films. Why is this? Could it be because without the spoonfeeding of bright colours and loud sounds they cannot conjure up a world of fantasy of their own?

Of course they can't; I am quite certain they are incapable of doing so, which is why they chose to patronize the arts of others.

It was all too clear to me, even at the tender age of 13, that these morons chose to claim the notion of reading fiction is considered by others, of greater intellect, to be an act of redundancy. These slimeballs choose to preach how one can actively improve their intellect with reading, even when they themselves are unable to do so. The very act of making the illiterate flourish is an act of lowering oneself, not raising oneself.

These pencil pushers with no concept of reading or writing can read, however, through their outdated, antiquated, and flat-out useless modes of communication. Text messaging is their chosen method of communication of everything everything, of which they are unable to verbalize. Social media is their chosen form of expression, which is of yet to discover their relevance.

Those techy techheads are teched up on things that don't go over the head of the average literate. The lower IQ people, who don't even have a clue as to what they're reading, enjoy the e-mails and digital porn songs sent by their friends to them.

And even if a highly intelligent person were to read to them, the low caste individuals will screech and cry about the fact that it is "downgrader" and "informative", which they think to be akin to a doctor's visit, as if one should seek what benefits to knowledge as opposed to just blindly absorbing as much as possible as your doctor tells to shoot into your veins.

Why raise these cretinous beings to a higher, intellectual state? Why not curb their insane tendencies and help genate logic and reasoning rather than screech and shout their voices off at the ceiling?

Of course, none of these simpletons came to me asking for my opinion on the matter. Why should they? As their intellect was so low the average IQ wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a book and a video game.

That's not to say these people also don't read. The fact that they waste trillions of taxpayer-dollars on anti-impalement technology, flying cars, or some smart device are defeated are not. That is just the waste of resources that the current governments are slaving away for to no avail, even though they can see that the people of these counties are uncivilized savages who are more of a burden than they are worth.

They are emulating the very thing they claim they are working against. These animals are too heinous for any of us who are of noble descent to stoop to this grotesque level.

These simpletons are far too lazy to produce themselves.

Great effortpost. Sad that all attention will be on McCarthy/Proust shitflinging.
I can't articulate the way you did but i intrinsically recognised the merits of pure literature and i continue to immerse myself into it. I hope i can inspire others here to too. Do you have a Goodreads/librarything account, anon?

There is only one thing that will bring you satisfaction at the time of your death, and that is to see your progeny around you. The sense of continuity allowed to mortal creatures like us is given by our sons and daughters and their sons and daughters. And this sense of continuity, in turnz is the only consolation a man could find at the time of his death, apart from peace with God. That's just how it is. If we were to be immortal beings, we obviously wouldn't need children. Nor God.
So, yes. I probably won't think much of all the books I read when I'm at my deathbed, just as I won't think much of any other activity in life. I will think of God, or the void.
(I'm not trying to promote having children, btw. You'll probably like to see them when you're dying, but that's just a few days if you're lucky.)
