The writer is very talented. What chainsaw man lacks is a character I care about. The main character is interesting and starts out sympathetic. But then morphs into basically a dog driven by the desire to touch boobs. Also, I think the author wants to be dominated by a woman. I'm also tired of "badass hot female" fiction, where the female character takes on alpha male characteristics such as natural leadership, cold rationality and often physical strength (in other words, what might be assigned in previous times to a, more realistically, male character). Other than that, the writer has really abilities of building and releasing tension, and designing and showcasing characters. For one of his first published manga you have to admit this is really good. None of my problems with it have to do with ability, but more with taste.

I read it and even enjoyed it, but primarily only for the artwork (as is the reason I enjoy most manga). The actual plot is just okay, and anyone who thinks it is the greatest work of fiction of all time is too young to post here.

This is disappointing to read. Half the manga is explained by the author being horny, the other half by the author being horny for a specific thing. Really the whole thing just seems a product of lust, except for some occasional moments with Power, Kobeni and (towards the end) Denji.

Fire Punch is much better. Fujimoto becomes too much of a femdom sissyfaggot with Chainsawman.

You should try Fire Punch if you liked his style but didn't like the character and the horniness. I don't like CSM for the same reasons but Fire Punch is among my favorite manga.

I looked at it, but I never did end up reading it. I know that I am going to read the second part of CSM when it comes out, but I haven't made any plans to read Fire Punch yet.
