In the bookshop today the handsome cashier started speaking to me again and I got flustered and embarrassed and think I started blushing.

How do you handle social interaction?
What do I say to someone with an interest in literature?

if anyone cared we would still be talking about this in the chat

Practice. Practice. Practice.

Not on 4chan. Doesn't count as social interaction especially as many on 4chan don't count as human. Try real live or message somebody on facebook/skype/

Well, see, what I do is talk about what I know and am interested about with literature... but that won't help you because you don't know or have an interest in literature.
I guess be as vague as possible and just say "I liked it" or "I hated it," and say shit like "S/he has a certain, like, way of saying stuff that I love," or "I relate to [character] so much, it's like [author] wrote the book just for me."
That's what the morons I meet on campus say and everybody nods with them like it's profound.

Take your dick out and wave it around like it's talking as you imitate the voice of Voldemort's pet snake and ask whether they read Swamplandia

So I read Treasure Island recently, Tom. It was pretty badass.

I am uncomfortable in prescribed social situations and I am generally hostile to strangers who try to make small talk with me. I am very talkative and easygoing with my friends however.

This.

But seriously. I work at a server room with an open floor office shared by three to four people at any given time. I would go mad if I didn't talk to them. Wikipedia can only hold my interest for so long. I grew up quite the recluse in high school but college helped me a lot in terms of social interaction. I even have one co-worker lady (not in my office, just the building) who shares an interest in literature, but we don't see each other much so it's mainly passing comments about particular works. She mainly reads fantasy tripe so I am hesitant to start talking about works beyond that, which I have mostly grown out of (Thank you R.A. Salvatore for making my tastes terrible to further impact me when I read the works of Shelly and Huxley).

>tl;dr - Work a job that requires social interaction, hang out with friends, don't be afraid to get made a fool of by talking to people in classes or anywhere really, and don't be an ass when discussing your tastes.

I'm sorry but could you fill me in on what's happened? Are you Ty assuming the identity of Tom after getting his trip or something? I remember that Tom was really cool and Ty was really... sad.

I can't talk in online games, I just can't. msn/facebook not generally a problem, especially if you are familiar with the person.

Of course, if you are speaking to someone female, your conversation is generally at the whim of menstruation.
