Today I got a speeding fine and they say I have to attend some stupid "speeding course" which will tell me how bad of a boy I am for driving 40 in an empty road that some retard arbitrarily decided you can only drive 30 in. They said in the letter "speeding kills over 1000 people a year" when that is a blatant lie. No, speeding doesn't kill; reckless driving does. Plus, the government right now kill millions of little babies in the womb, chop their heads off, rip their limbs apart, yank their organs out, slice them up, and throw their limbs in the dumpster. Every year they're literally murdering millions of innocent little babies, but they pretend to care about the 1000 who "die of speeding". No, all they care about is sucking money out of you, grabbing your throat, squeezing it, making you lick their foot and kicking you in the head while you're on the fucking floor.

Literally just go and read history. All the kings and powerful men were crazy syphilitic lunatics. You know what Napoleon used to do? When people came to his court he would pinch their cheek so hard that it would start bleeding, and the poor idiots couldn't do anything except stand there blubbering because they knew protesting means one of his brainwashed lackeys will kill you. Look up Cambyses and his cruelty. Look up every single ruler and tyrant in the history of mankind. Power makes people mad. We don't need a fucking GOVERNMENT CHARGING US MONEY FOR DRIVING 40 MPH IN AN EMPTY ROAD BECAUSE THEY WANT TO LINE THEIR FUCKING POCKETS.

For the longest time my only guiding principle was to not be bored and to avoid being tied down by obligations to other people. To that end I searched out a Job that paid decently for few hours so I could mostly have free time. I avoided intimate relationships with women, or even casual sex because I know how 'casual' can snowball. At a certain point I started cutting friends off because I found going out, or even thinking about other people an annoyance, eventually I isolated myself entirely, and with the exception of work and the occasional prostitute I never had to speak to or think about anyone.

Today I woke up and it all felt like a prison. I had seen my actions as a kind of escape from the crab-bucket of middling drama and vampiric responsibility, now it just feels like a cage. I hate my job, I hate who I am, I hate my past, I hate my prospects for the future is more of the same. The worst part is I was so good at isolating myself I have no way pack, no unburnt bridges, no lifelines. I am at sea and there is no land or ship on the horizon.

not in the noble sense, the sense of being a "true" artist, of improving my artistic skills and creating something with genuine artistic merit. no, in the trivial sense, in the sense of considering myself an artist, of being thought of as an artist or a wannabe artist by those i know, of showing up to social events for local artists and so on, all the secondary things which are quite independent of my ability to put out art of actual merit, but which form an identity.

i have the necessary artistic output for that low goal, but not the personal style or any of the other required qualities. a personality rather easier to imagine as a novelist, though that is still a poor fit.

Then later when our paths crossed again and you said hi, I didn't respond, saved by my companion responding, afterwards asking if it was meant for me.
Yes I feel a sort of disdain towards you but I see myself above being this petty, all of this was unintentional, I wanted to talk, I was interested. Now I acted out some lowly high school drama and I feel ashamed.
I will be assertive next time, this painful lesson will remind me.

When it comes to global warming, I trust that China will come through and save our asses. Why?

Unlike the Western elite, the Chinese elite are loyal to their nation and people. You will see Western elites trying to move to Mars or bunkers somewhere. The Chinese elite will stay in China, and they will work to ensure China stays healthy. That necessitates stopping global warming. Moreover, the Chinese are less ”hand-wringing” than the West, and will attempt geoengineering which the West shys away from.

Global warming being a global problem, China solving it solves it for everyone. Thus, we just need to sit back until Hong Kong or Guangzhou begins sinking beneath rising waters, and they’ll take care of it.

Find me one Chinese politician who openly expresses the type of hatred of China that the average American liberal politician has for America. Hell, I envy them. I envy the a lot for this actually. In America we have a constant flood of American people openly hating the country, everyone from the president to teens. In China, everyone (barring some ethnic/religious minorities) is happy with their country, proud to be Chinese, etc. You won’t find Chinese media saying their country is inherently evil or built on ethnic hatred. In America that’s what they all believe.

The reason what the US and Europe are currently doing to their populations is bad is because they enervate the spirit and create what Renaud Camus calls UHM, "undifferentiated human matter." What the mainland Chinese have done and are doing to their own population is the same thing, by different means, and a hundred times more effective.

If you removed the CCP from power right now, China would splinter into a thousand warlord factions who don't even have the vision to reunite the country with a new Mandate of Heaven. Even if you somehow avoided this, and created a stable Chinese state that also isn't tyrannical, which is impossible because the current tyranny with its faded Mandate is the only thing holding the country together, the country would remain mostly dormant for a century or likely several centuries, because that's how long it will take to heal the psychic wounds inflicted on the Chinese spirit.

The CCP is a container made of dead but still rigid flesh, it's just an exterior wall barely holding the Chinese mass inside. But what's inside is putrefied liquid, the most optimistic take you can have on it is that it's the primordial soup and raw genetic material for a LATER robust nation.

If the CCP starts listing in any way, the whole container will burst. And the more rigid it gets, the more it outwardly proclaims its strength, the more brittle it gets, since it has no organic lability anymore, like a state is supposed to. It can't weather any shocks or absorb and redistribute energy.

The CCP knows this and they know the one hail mary play they have left in their playbook is to start WW3 so that at least the "default" direction of politics within China is to trust whatever reigning power can still organize violence and maintain Han territorial integrity. The CCP basically needs a world-ending war to stay in power. But they are also militarily weak. America and even much smaller nations could wipe out all Chinese infrastructure within days even without nukes and mass starvation and rebellion, not to mention the disloyal, poorly trained, paper tiger army with no internal unity, split into regional sub-armies, would implode the country without even needing to fight pitched battles. The one hope the CCP has is to fight basically a Vietnam-style asymmetrical ethno-war for survival while taking massive 100:1 casualties and just hope to outlast the enemy while the world burns.

All this is true even though the US military is a fucking joke too. Doesn't matter because they still have Nintendo video game consoles that can incinerate continents, for now.

>Enneads 1.6
http://www.sophia-project.org/uploads/1/3/9/5/13955288/plotinus_enneads.pdf
>And this inner vision, what is its operation? Newly awakened it is all too feeble to bear the ultimate splendour. Therefore the Soul must be trained—to the habit of remarking, first, all noble pursuits, then the works of beauty produced not by the labour of the arts but by the virtue of men known for their goodness: lastly, you must search the souls of those that have shaped these beautiful forms.

>But how are you to see into a virtuous soul and know its loveliness? Withdraw into yourself and look. And if you do not find yourself beautiful yet, act as does the creator of a statue that is to be made beautiful: he cuts away here, he smoothes there, he makes this line lighter, this other purer, until a lovely face has grown upon his work. So do you also: cut away all that is excessive, straighten all that is crooked, bring light to all that is overcast, labour to make all one glow of beauty and never cease chiselling your statue, until there shall shine out on you from it the godlike splendour of virtue, until you shall see the perfect goodness surely established in the stainless shrine.

>When you know that you have become this perfect work, when you are self-gathered in the purity of your being, nothing now remaining that can shatter that inner unity, nothing from without clinging to the authentic man, when you find yourself wholly true to your essential nature, wholly that only veritable Light which is not measured by space, not narrowed to any circumscribed form nor again diffused as a thing void of term, but ever unmeasurable as something greater than all measure and more than all quantity—when you perceive that you have grown to this, you are now become vision itself: now call up all your confidence, strike forward yet a step—you need a guide no longer—strain, and SEE.

Anon, you need to finally learn your lesson.
What you're chasing doesn't exist. Only the promise of it does. That promise will lure you, bring you deeper in, coax ever more time and energy out of you, because you think there's something behind the door at the end of the tunnel, a soundless roar or a brief tingling fleshy lightness, and so you take trembling steps forward and assure yourself, out loud, that this is what you want. It's a magic spell. Say yes, yes, I love this, I want it, yes, and in inks and screentones draw the circle of Solomon round your head, and Beelzebub himself will be at your command... that is what you believe, what you allow yourself to believe, what you want to be true.
What you will find, if you follow the tunnel to its end, make the secret combinations, speak the passcodes, and open the door for yourself, is that there was never anything behind it but a bare brick wall.
Every time have to be reminded of this fact. Every time, you let yourself dream of hidden vaults, rumored chambers long-lost, secret corridors guarded with countersigns. Every time, you find the same door, open it, and sigh, promising yourself not to be deceived so easily again. And every time, as soon as you're out of the tunnel, on the favored walks, under the skies and stars, you dream again, of enchanting mysteries waiting only for someone to find them.

This is how the game shifted. I got laid so much in the OKCupid years, then the dating app age began. Suddenly I wasn't the one articulate guy in a sea of "Hey" "Hay sexy" "Hi" "U fuk?" messages, I was one face in a sea of other average faces.

I only did okay on Tinder once I adapted, and even then it was soul crushing as you say, and in hindsight I massively regret the shit I said and did to get laid. Nothing major even, I never disgraced myself in an overt way, but the very fact that I would talk to those women while they're implicitly disrespecting me and making me jump through hoops. The only dignified thing I could and should have done is to abstain and look elsewhere. Instead I caved and spent several years begrudgingly using the apps.

No matter how good your strategy to break through that initial barrier, the fundamental fact is that 95% of women are swiping left on you if you're below "very handsome." Women on dating apps rank something like eighty to ninety percent of men as "below average," which obviously makes no sense statistically.

I'm basically innumerate (certainly when it comes to macroeconomic matters), but since we're on the topic of conspiracies I'll note I recently read a essay by an Italian philosopher, evidently well read in economic matters, wherein he contends that the COVID pandemic is a literal government conspiracy of unprecedented proportions meant to save the global, and particularly Western, economies from another 2008 crisis by artificially both accelerating and decelerating said crisis in a sort of controlled highly turbulent yet ultimately system-survivable landing.

In effect, because of the unsustainable levels of global financial debt, all prognostications indicate that the future will be characterized by recurrent 2008-type crises and financial stagnation and retraction on a global scale. Indeed the US economy was barreling towards something close to collapse, but that this latter event was preempted by an artificially induced global pandemic which provided cover for a financial rescue package far bigger than that obtained in 2008 under the pretext of the largest, "entirely unpredictable," global-scale cause majeure in modern history.

Furthermore, that things will never go back to normal socially and politically because they will not be going back to "normal" economically to begin with. I.e. the problems inherent in the current stage of capitalist development are unresolvable unless a thorough restructuring of society as a whole is achieved, meaning that the West (moreso the rest of the world one imagines) is already in the maw of a camouflaged regime of economic authoritarianism and determinism, extending and indeed englobing the entire public surface or sphere of the capitalist-controlled commons: media, major internet platforms, universities, etc.

The article in question was recently published in the LA Review of Books Philosophical Salon section. The writer maintains the scenario is genuinely real and not simply a philosophical hypothetical. I take it as a very engrossing example of science fiction, if only because I can't imagine a situation where professional Wall Street traders, who are quite evidently in the front lines of major market developments, would not have seen a major debt crash, let alone one bigger than 2008, barreling their way like a gigantic guillotine only to then see the entire system "miraculously" saved from such an inevitable collapse by an unprecedented (yet thoroughly felicitous for the system) cause majeure in the form of the COVID pandemic (and ensuing politically frictionless financial bailout) and not put two and two together with not a single whistleblower from said sector appearing, as a result of the statistical irreality of such a supposedly thoroughly organic and coincidental confluence of events, to call out the rouse.

Is this Agamben?

Have you read Brenner? He basically applies Marx's "capitalism inevitably arrives at this crisis bros" model to the longue duree of capitalism, so we're only reaching the irreparable, no-more-bandages situation NOW. He says that real growth ended in the '70s (real growth being a key term) and this was only artificially buoyed by post-war reconstruction where there was infinite capital and free government research grants to go around. But the wages of the rich still should have equalized with those of the poor over time according to orthodox economic thought. Instead, right around this time, "finance" exponentially increased the amount of wizardry and exclusivity it had, and created the modern vulture capitalist paradigm.

Basically, the global economy is one giant pyramid scheme, but it's also dead (cannot unleash any truly new productive forces) and is essentially in a state of autophagy. The elites at the top of the pyramid know this, and all they can do is strategically control which parts of the body they reduce to mush by "feeding" on them to filter more wealth their way and maintain high capitalism (which is thus an artificially sustained relic and is, effectively, trying to die and give birth to something else).

This would make sense as the next phase: switch to even more controlled economies with "soft authoritarianism" through cooperation with neoliberal nanny states.

Have you read about Samuel Francis' idea of anarcho-tyranny, or his use of James Burnham's managerial class thesis to argue that the true bourgeoisie is dead and the managerial class is the actual current reigning elite, wearing the old bourgeois cultural forms like a skin suit? Also relevant, Djilas' "new class." Apparatchiks and technocrats are not just an extension or appendage of a "bourgeois" state, they are what replaces bourgeois capitalism.

>if only because I can't imagine a situation .....
It's systemic, no one of them has all the pieces, probably extremely few among the elite even consciously think in these ways. They are acting as a cybernetic unity, they are dialectically pushed to do what they're doing, with a perfect fusion of useful idiots and reappropriated ideologies (dumb silicon valley redditors thinking they are saving the world), actual intentional evil guys (probably rare), crackpot theorists and strategy thinktanks. All managerial class interests are "channeled" into cooperation, they do not consciously cooperate for the most part. Sam Francis is very good, Leviathan and its Enemies.

Also read Quigley's Tragedy and Hope. This already happened in WW1. The inflation crisis after WW1 was a "great reset" that artificially prolonged bourgeois capitalism because it was a fait accompli. The banker elites first resisted it, then learned to cope and regained their ground even better (with financial/vulture capitalism). Look at the Powell Memorandum too.

Robert Brenner, I've mostly seen his lectures here and there and read some articles. It's weirdly difficult to find recent writings or articles by him but he has done recent talks and interviews. He's a UCLA professor of History of Economics. Here's something recent by him
https://againstthecurrent.org/atc200/economic-turbulence/

But I suggest looking at his lectures on Youtube where he goes over the nature of the recurrent financial crises from a Marxist (but never doctrinaire, basic bitch Marxist, just heterodox economist) perspective.

The other writers I mentioned are Sam Francis, a right winger and paleoconservative who some have said predicted Trumpism. What he really did was predict (in an article "From Household to Nation" especially) that American public consciousness wasn't quite ready for the paleoconservative, populist, "economic nationalist" movement Pat Buchanan tried to make in the '90s, but that in another generation it would be. He is definitely right wing though, his desire was to mobilize "MARs" (Middle American Radicals, basically white working class people neglected by the leftist radicalism of the 1990s and 2000s) into a new coalition capable of resisting America's crony capitalist uniparty politics.

His best book is Leviathan and its Enemies, which he wrote in the 1990s as a massive synthesis of all his ideas and attempt to create the ultimate strategies for resisting "Leviathan," the late managerial state. He get the idea of the managerial class from James Burnham, a Marxist turned conservative elite theorist from the mid-twentieth century. Burnham's two biggest books are The Managerial Revolution and The Machiavellians.

Another good book by Francis if you are interested in his internal critique of modern conservatism is Beautiful Losers. If you are interested in that topic generally, Paul Gottfried is the best to look at.

Miloslav Djilas is just a Yugoslav communist who became disenchanted with the way communism developed in post-revolutionary states and critiqued it in "The New Class: An Analysis of the Communist System." His argument was basically that instead of creating a classless society, a "new class" simply emerged that dominated society via the party bureaucracy instead. If you're interested in this line of critique, you should look into other "post-Marxists," but especially look at Christopher Lasch (see The Revolt of the Elites and the Betrayal of Democracy) and Paul Piccone (see https://c2cjournal.ca/2009/06/where-marx-and-conservatives-meet-the-writings-of-paul-piccone/, "Where Marx and Conservatives Meet: The Writings of Paul Piccone").

Carroll Quigley wrote two major works: Anglo-American Establishment, and Tragedy & Hope. The latter is very long but worth it:
https://thirdworldtraveler.com/Banks/Tragedy_Hope_excerpt.html

Everybody should know Quigley's name and what he claimed. Others who draw from Quigley are Gary Allen ("None Dare Call it Conspiracy").

No they aren't. Their economic and military growth is done for the sake of empowering themselves, not to become the global superpower. They simply want their own sphere of influence, and a return to a multipolar world (as does Russia) which has been the norm for most of history.

You should read John Mearscheimer. I had him as a prof at UChicago. He became a laughing stock in 1994 for vocally opposing Ukraine's decision to give up its nukes, predicting the exact situation we have today. The mystery of rational abductive reasoning is thusly broken down thricefold : Simplicity, Explanatory power and evidence.
1.) Simplicity signifies Occam's Razor, the belief with the least amount of assumptions is preferabble. But this also means that each belief is well-supported as it reasonably is. Each belief must rely upon its support in an accurate manner.
2.) Explanatory power. The power of abduction itself, abductive reasoning can be used as a support of beliefs. If the simplest reason (the only explanation with evidence) is unlikely, this leaves room for greater abduction.
3. Evidential Support. If the evidence is likely given a hypothesis, then the evidence supports the hypothesis.

Simplicity is crucial, while explanatory power and evidence are tied. This is the end of man's rationality based upon their knowledge based.

Alright, here goes.

I hate women.
Everyday I wake up hating women.
I think about how much I hate women while preparing my coffee, and then again while drinking it.
I sit on the toilet for 30 oo so minutes every morning trying to shit out constipated nuggets that form from the endless stress I feel from hating women all day.

I go through my day and not even once do I consider there might exist a women I wouldn’t hate. On the contrary, I’m consumed with the hatred of every woman I’ve met up to that point, with no exceptions.

It’s important to clarify one thing here though. I don’t consider little girls to be women. I don’t therefore consider my wife, a precious 9-year-old girl, to be a woman worthy of my hate.
But I’m not stupid. I know that one day at a time her slow transformation into a woman will take place. And then, one day, unexpectedly, I’ll have the second most depressing realization of my life: My wife is now a woman, and I hate her.
The first most depressing realization is, of course, that women actually exist.

I hate women so much it’s unreality

In everyday language it very frequently happens that the same word has different modes of signification - and so belongs to different symbols - or that two words that have different modes of signification are employed in propositions in what is superficially the same way.
Thus the word "is" figures as the copula, as a sign for identity, and as an expression for existence; "exist" figures as an intransitive verb like "go", and "identical" as an objective; we speak of something, but also of something's happening.
(In the proposition, 'Green is green' - where the first word is the proper name of a person and the last an adjective - these words do not merely have different meanings : they are different symbols.)
In this way the most fundamental confusions are easily produced (the whole of philosophy is full of them).

In order to avoid such errors we must make use of sign-language that excludes them by not using the same sign for different symbols and by not using in a superficially similar way signs that have different modes of signification : that is to say, a sign-language that is governed by logical grammar - by logical syntax.(...)

The rules of logical syntax must go without saying, once we know how each individual sign signifies.

- Ludwig Wittgenstein, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus

Try to get on the belt either being the guy that puts the codes on the boxes or pulling stuff off the belt to give to the "stowers". this, then, it should be pointed out, is because you don't trust that anyone anywhere loves you, which is a real tragedy and not your fault. if you are like me. it's this knowledge that you are anchored somewhere that is the difference between being confident and being insecure, I think. "About the difference between painting and sculpture, da Vinci stated:

“I do not find any difference between painting and sculpture except that the sculptor pursues his work with greater physical fatigue than the painter, and the painter pursues his work with greater mental fatigue. This is proved to be true, for the sculptor in producing his work does so by the force of his arm, striking the marble or other stone to remove the covering beyond the figure enclosed within it. This is a most mechanical exercise accompanied many times with a great deal of sweat, which combines with dust and turns into mud. The sculptor's face is covered with paste and all powdered with marble dust, so that he looks like a baker, and he is covered with minute chips, so that he looks as though he had been out in the snow. His house is dirty and filled with chips and dust of stones. In speaking of excellent painters and sculptors we may say that just the opposite happens to the painter, since the well-dressed painter sits at great ease in front of his work, and moves a very light brush, which bears attractive colors, and he is adorned with such garments as he pleases. His dwelling is full of fine paintings and is clean and often filled with music, or the sound of different beautiful works being read, which are often heard with great pleasure, unmixed with the pounding of hammers or other noises.”"

Death grip syndrome is a consequence of masturbating too much and too vigorously, causing you to lose sensation in your penis/clit, thus forcing you to continue to masturbate even more vigorously if you want to achieve the same desired results. There's a psychological phenomenon similar to death grip syndrome called the law of diminishing returns that states that the value or enjoyment we get from something starts to decrease after a certain point. For instance, if you watch a really great movie for the first time, it's incredible, but any subsequent viewings, though enjoyable, are less so. Remember how it felt when you discovered masturbation and porn, or when you got high for the first time? It was never the same afterward, was it? I'll bet money that you've been chasing that same sensation for a long time. We all do.

Now apply that same logic to all stimuli, in DG's case music. Their music is intentionally very stimulating because they are aware of the fact that in the modern age we are all hopelessly addicted to stimuli because of its omnipresence and how it affects our brains, and as a consequence we are constantly chasing the high that media provides us and DG knowingly provides the overstimulation we crave because we have affectively death gripped our brains into needing increasingly stimulating media. Like drugs, getting likes and karma releases dopamine, and so does cumming and music. DG likens their music to drugs frequently in their lyrics and even mock their audience for being the naive addicts that they are.

Now to cap this off, let me just say that I don't think DG's intentions were malicious in any way by seemingly brainwashing their audience and getting us addicted to their music. If you read even deeper into their lyrics, their ultimate goal is to actually enlighten their audience and make them aware of the predicament we've gotten ourselves into by allowing ourselves to become slaves to technology, specifically screens and social media. Seriously read their lyrics. They want us to see through their ruse so that we will hopefully realize that what they've done to us is essentially what these actually evil corporations have been doing to us since the day we were born, the difference being that, despite DG's misanthropic persona, they want to help lift the veil that has hidden the true objective behind what we thought was meant to benefit us but is actually meant to control us. Like Dorothy looking behind the curtain only to find out that the entity responsible for the people of Oz's hardships isn't a deific floating green head, but a simple old man. Or Neo taking the red pill and finding out that his reality isn't reality at all, but an illusion put in place to deceive him and keep him from the truth. We aren't living, breathing, feeling humans to the powers that be. We're commodities.

Death Grips is an artistic manifestation of this and much more.

My pandering answer is that it's by design, and there is a degree of truth to this in that many Americans live completely untethered from their surroundings, commuting alone from their big, mostly empty houses to pointless, unfulfilling jobs. The suburbs and office parks could exist anywhere. My serious answer is that regional culture still exists within America. For a really broad example, just compare the attitude and mentality of a Californian to a New Yorker. Every city and many rural areas have their regional foods, unique festivals, cultural institutions that are inscrutable to outsiders. I tried to explain the Philadelphia mummer's parade to a guy from Pittsburgh, which is not that far in the grand scheme of things, and he didn't get it at all. Go to a county fair or something.

Family, friends, folklore and even community are all enemies of this progress so they get eroded away.

Whenever professors asks us to introduce ourselves, they also says to include our pronouns. Every time this happens, I get scared because I don't want to say my pronouns because I don't believe in that shit. It's even worse when they pressure you a bit. I'm glad to say I've never actually said this.
Although, I sometimes wonder what others think of me for not saying my pronouns. like perhaps they think I'm a chud or they think I'm questioning my own identity.

/mu/ 10 years ago was the best place to discuss music on the internet, yeah you had smaller websites and blogs that were good but there was no other big community with such good taste in music as /mu/. Yeah a lot of it was pitchfork core but you had albums that mainstream outlets called an average 8/10 like ITAOTS which were considered godly, and also praise for bands like The Unicorns and Sweet Trip which no one else gave a shit about, but eventually got co-opted by Twitter when people realized bands like this are actually good.

Apparently Tumblr used to have a decent /mu/ like community too, but I never went there. Needless to say, /mu/ is a shell of its former self. When people started waifuposting Grimes it was over. If you want to see what hell looks like, check out the wpop general there.

DG have a lot of interesting lyrics, it's probably an overlooked side to their music. There are a few songs with obvious themes, e.g. On GP which is about suicide. That said it's hard to think of specific examples for your theory. There's lots of references to sex, drugs, modernity, and violence in their lyrics but in casual listening it seems most of them don't have any specific theme. It's a plausible theory though.

Bureaucracy is a great example of the second law of thermodynamics. Bureaucracy always follows the Shirky Priniciple - it becomes dedicated not to solving any problem, but to perpetuating it so that the institution survives. While evolution is the survival of the fittest, Bureaucracy is survival of the fattest. It consumes all the resources and energy in its path, its appetite insatiable, it replaces the ecosystem around it with itself in its constant greed. Many shriek in horror at the the repetition of Sisyphus but Bureaucracy is a whole army of Sisyphuses rolling boulders that knock other rocks like skittles. The civil service, human resource departments, academic administration - truly these are the most existentially horrific collectives imaginable.

We still have the writings of the famous "Presocratic" philosophers who, two and a half thousand years ago, analyzed the human condition in searing and terrifying detail. But the way they described people then-hopelessly deaf and blind to reality, arrogant and confused, superficial and living their lives in a total dream, devoid of the slightest genuine consciousness and begging to be deceived, trapped by their own fantasies but imagining they are free-is not just some record of how things once used to be. It's a perfectly accurate portrayal of the human condition right now. "
