1. Naturalism: The view that all of reality can be explained in terms of natural processes, excludes belief in anything supernatural, but accepts the possibility that there may be a transcendental/dualistic aspects to reality, may even accept the possibility that the physical world doesn't exist as we know it through experience.

2. Materialism: The view that the only thing that exists is matter, that matter is definitely real and a part of the natural world and thus excludes belief in the supernatural, but accepts the possibility that aspects of matter, like the mind, may belong to separate domains of material reality that is only accessible through specific processes (i.e. our usual laws of physics may not be able to account for things like the mind, and a different approach may be needed).

3. Physicalism: The view that all of reality can only be explained in terms of natural, material, physical processes, including the mind, and rejects any and all explanations that say otherwise including religious, metaphysical, and spiritual views that contradict it.

The third, but it isn't necessarily a good thing. All these viewpoints can be used as a baseline to create litearture though. Literature does not need to be identical to reality.

Platonism, both natural (encosmic gods and fate) and supernatural (hypercosmic gods and providence) forces are real and active in the world.

>> No.19848448

Counter point, how can any of these systems prove reality exists?

Physicalism and materialism are, essentially, the same. Between the three, I'd have to side with naturalism.

”I know that I don’t know” is a perfectly logical statement with no contradiction whatsoever, the fact that you think the bullshit you typed sounds smart would be hilarious if people weren’t spouting this platitude here everyday.
