My first gf was Filipino, fresh of the boat. Maybe it was the horny googles, but imho their women aren't much worse than other asians, however their men are literally the worst, dumbest, lowest IQ individuals I've ever met. Because people here only pursue HS then proceeds to get an NCII in vocational to go abroad. This was due to the influence of America in the education. When they started teaching Flips they concentrated in giving us medical education than anything else because of the shortage in that industry. This led into the mindset of going abroad as salvation to poverty in the PH.

People here either take the shortest route of education that is enough to go abroad (mostly consist of lower class which are the majority) or do some gaijin hunting (japayuki route was also effective). Due to the geography of mountains and seas dividing the people has led to the development of different cultures and languages which makes it harder for us to develop I myself have to learn Bisaya, Bagobo, & Tagalog only for 1 single country add to that the English and the country you want to abroad to (my cousin needed Norwegian and I'm forced to do JP reps since I'm getting shipped to Japan).

tldr: poor people trying to get out of poverty + culture that is ingrained from colonization + people take the easiest way out + people only do their best at the start + different languages and culture

Facing this problems you'll be stuck with people with a mindset that thinks learning what is enough to survive is what is necessary.

Man it was nuts. She was some weird cultish proddie, when I told her I was Catholic on our 3rd date, she literally started crying in a food court at the mall and screaming that I was worshiping the Black Pope (I think?).
She worked two-full time jobs, 15 hours a day, one at a butcher shop and one at a restaurant, but wouldn't hear anything about going to college.
Her dad fucking hated me. I slept with the girl on our first date, and he found the condom in the toilet... When I saw him for the first time a few days later and went to introduce myself and shake his hand, he just ignored me and turned around to speak to someone else.
Last time I saw her we got into such a fight, when I left her house, she pushed me down the stairs, and my reflex was to grab her hair, so she fell down with me, and hurt herself way fucking harder than I did. I miss her teaching me Tagalog and me teaching her French, tho. For some reason she had the sluttiest voice ever when talking French, always made me diamond hard.

I remember my ex telling me how afraid she was of catching some disease in the water, and a story she told us of a young flip celebrity that fell in a river during a filming and died because of toxic shock. I thought maybe you guys had Indians level of water pollution?
Its just a weird cultural factoid. I come from a small village north of Quebec City, the town itself hired swimming, kayaking and sailing instructors, literally every single kid in the town would go to them (it's a great way to insure adults have tons of free time in their summer). There's a large lake (about 4km across) not too far, twice every summer everyone in the town gathers at 6am to swim half of it. Having the record is a point of pride (I always sucked at it, best I ever did was 50min, my sisters could do it under 30). I had my own sail boat at 16 (I was much better at sailing than swimming, I won a few regatas).
Yet when I invite my pacific islander girlfriend to go watch the whales on the St-Lawrence she thinks I'm setting her up for drowning.

Dude, I grew up in a very bourgeois family, I was 18, 19 years ago, it was a summer job that I went to because it was on the other side of the continent so I could practice my English, make some money and (at least that's what my dad wanted) learn its value. Losing my virginity to a slutty 24 years old 5 foot tall Filipino girl who legitimately looked 15 was just the cherry on top.
