Based writing anon, if you still lurk here, can you share more of your story?

And if you're interested, I'd be glad to help you edit and publish your work. You've got a very direct and nuanced style of prose and I think it deserves to be polished, whatever the subject matter.

The story sucked and all the people posting those ridiculous reaction images admitted that it was done for r/4chan upvotes. The confession is right there in the thread, and you can find the r/4chan post if you do a little digging (as if you even need to, you almost surely saw it there).

I actually didn't see the original thread, it was linked to me in a Telegram group so I was not aware of this. Anyone got a cap of the creator admitting he made it up for imaginary internet points?

I'd believe it, the whole tone of that thread was bizarre. The story was not that great to warrant the reaction it received.

Well I read the thread itself and whoever's saying OP did it for internet clout, see the attached. Sounds like it was legit and the reddit fame/massive response got to him, especially the negative aspects.

If you're still lurking here anon, shoot me an email. writefag@waifu.club
Genuinely would appreciate the opportunity to help edit your work.

This is what I'm talking about, and a few posts later one of them comes out and brags about upvotes.

Also the original premise is just ridiculous, you wouldn't have cops involuntary search your home for writing weird fiction. This guy clearly lives in the first world, so that isn't within their legal power, and most novels are creepy anyway so they wouldn't care.

>> No.20104348

>>20104256
If they actually were farming upvotes why would they immediately hop to the original thread and admit it there? More likely some trolling /r/4chan redditors came from the reddit thread and decided to euphorically sperg out for no reason

I concede your point about the intro post being a bit silly, but we also don't know what the first few chapters were like. There are obscenity laws in some states that are still on the books, and if he'd made what could be construed as a cognizable threat (particular and actualized), then that could be grounds for a home visit.

They knew no one would check the thread, the whole point of r/4chan is seeing 4chan without having to go through the 'scary' experience of actually coming here. Also, they'd already gotten all of their upvotes so it didn't matter. They bragged about getting 1.2k and when I checked hours later, it was the same amount. Reddit has a retarded system that gives random posts 15 minutes of fame and then functionally archives them immediately after.

>There are obscenity laws in some states that are still on the books, and if he'd made what could be construed as a cognizable threat..
They are "on the books" in the sense that bans on gay sex are still "on the books" in many states, they are not enforceable. When laws are thrown out by the supreme court, they still remain "on the books." SCOTUS didn't *entirely* quash obscenity laws but they made it very clear that anything with the slightest bit of artistic legitimacy is legal. Obscenity laws have nothing to do with threats, anyway. This is the sort of thing they used to cover: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Chatterley%27s_Lover

Kind of a moot point since they already would have had evidence of his "guilt" of writing obscenity, and did not arrest him. And even if none of that was true, cops can't just show up and search your house without a warrant.

>>t. lawyerfag
yeah, no.

>> No.20104527

>>20104412
I wasn't conflating obscenity with threats, just offering two possible scenarios that would result in a state trooper MAYBE making a stop at someone's house. You're right on the obscenity bit, that most cases don't see the light of day because the Miller test is extremely permissive. However, also see the following. Not hugely recent (2005) but still illustrative that some cases are in fact prosecuted.

https://old.post-gazette.com/pg/08220/902556-100.stm

As with most things in the law, it depends.

You didn't address my other point, about threats to imminent lawless action. That, I think, would be far more likely a reason to suspect the OP was visited (assuming it wasn't a larp, like what you're suggesting).

>cops can't just show up and search your house without a warrant
Correct, but note the following:
1. We don't know that they didn't have a warrant
2. There are exceptions to the warrant rule--you probably know the "in plain sight" one, but cops can also search a house if you consent to let them in, or if there are exigent circumstances
3. Cops don't always follow proper procedures

And even if he wasn't actually visited, greentexting a bit as a pretext to posting some original writing doesn't automatically make him a karma farmer.

Yeah yeah exceptions nuances, of course. It's the same situation. America has always had creepy writers, this isn't shit by comparison to some stuff that even makes it onto the silver screen. They do not get investigated for potential crimes over it, that wouldn't work as virtually every single piece of published writing in this country depicts crime.

And did you really not find it odd how he said this and then instantly gave in and posted it? His attempt to appear scared about this was so thinly veiled, he was clearly playing along with it.

>> No.20104826

>>20104592
True, just offering a reason as to why someone could possibly get visited. But I believe it to be exceptionally rare, he was probably just memeing in his OP.

As to your latter point, that's a very good point. If he was actually visited by cops, he probably wouldn't share what he wrote online. So I think it's safe to say that you're right there, he probably wasn't actually swatted lol.

BUT, idk about the reddit part. He seemed genuinely upset in his later post (to me anyway)

I genuinely thought the guy wrote it as a shitty joke. Now I'm starting to think the shitty joke is you. There are a few possibilities here:

1. You are actually sincerely retarded and are unable to recognize quality writing

2. You are someone connected to the shit discord raid and continuing the "joke". Possibly to farm a lolcow because some autist displayed likely pedo tendencies

3. You are the author working with others or alone to shell game interest in your shit story

None of these are good outcomes. At the end of the day the excerpt is shit. Rest in shit, shit stirrer.
