Protip, accuracy outside of VATS is determined solely by the weapon's skill, its strength requirement, and its condition, so there's no bullshit wide spread at level 8 like in 3.
I made a beeline for Lincoln's rifle and when I got it I was all -fuck yeah it's in perfect condition my small guns skill is 100 I exceed the strength req time to snipe some bitches- but I could barely hit things farther than shotgun range, at that point I just quit and stopped playing. Also, Beyond Good & Evil. It's one of those games that artsy faggots toss around when they want to talk about strong female characterization in gaming, but it's really just a 3D Zelda clone at it's heart. It's a shame though, because the sci-fi setting is actually quite interesting, like something you would find in a French comic book.

The setting and the atmosphere are excellent, and the metaphysics, based in Gnosticism and Mesopotamian mythology, are really something else. It's available as a single iso on /rs/, along with its expansions, Tribunal and Bloodmoon (it's generally agreed that they aren't worth the HD space).

I actually started an edit of Klara's story a few days ago. I'm certainly going to need plenty of help from the Russian speaker on the translation project. I'm only through day one, and I've already run into a bunch of puns and sayings that make no sense in English. Beyond those, it's basically just a matter of cleaning up grammar and fixing phrases to make them sound more like English and less like moonspeak.

But yeah, I'm kind of going off and doing this translation on my own. The translation project, in all its small fits of activity, have barely finished anything. I've only been working a couple of days and I've got a twelth of Klara's story finished. It's just a matter of sitting down and editing--there's no real need to retranslate the whole thing.

And you pretty much have to parse what you're reading in your head in order for anything to make sense with the Devotress. Since I was already doing the work whether I wanted to or not, I figured I'd take a little more time and make things easier for others.

>Also, what are your thoughts on E.Y.E?
I've only tooled around with it for a while with an incredibly dumb character build. My initial impression is that the really convoluted interface could have been streamlined in a much more neat way, although I'd need to play it through a few times and really put an effort into hotkeying and so forth to get a good impression of how it works when you're very familiar with the system.

It seems like it has the potential to be a decent game with the capacity for rich challenge that allows for multiple and differing levels of play, although from what I've played (maybe 4 levels) they all seem to play out more or less the same way; you get spotted and mobbed (they respawn according to difficulty setting). maybe it plays a little differently if you work hard with the stealth aspect but it doesn't seem as though much effort was put into designing the levels in such a way to reward a stealth build very much. So I don't know, it looks on paper like you have a variety of playstyles to go through the game with but it's such a straightforward game through level and enemy design that there's no great reason or reward to take up the different approaches.

>> No.2027671

>>2027669

Some points on the aesthetic; the dialogue is utterly atrocious and the product of a non-english translator, space marines are solemn, you'll get into conversations with rappers, the quality of your own responses are all over the place'; the dialogue is just terrible.

The level design varies; some of it blows such as in an early level where you fight looters and can't see past 5 feet because of this bullshit green mist they put in the level. Other parts are nicely done; there's an apartment complex section designed in a tone that reminds me of Blade Runner. The game in general is a mixed bag, you've got eastern leanings, space marine and chaos demon shit, cyberpunk stuff; there's lore stuff you can read, it wasn't really my focus though.

>The feature list makes it sound like they're trying to ape Deus Ex
Well, to me Deus Ex was not so much a great rpg insofar as features are concerned (system shock 2 has a great number of similar mechanics); the elasticity and richness of its plot (instantiated through play) as a roleplaying game are the key merits of the game. So far I haven't had any similar experiences in E.V.E.; it's all pretty much go to x and hack/kill y and two-second kill or save or make some retarded comment conversations.

Metal Gear Solid is my favorite series. Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 still remains the best game i ever played. I'm really anal for innovation. Less for the kinect bullshit but more so for different art styles and game play elements, or new stories. I don't really dig Uncharted even though i acknowledge them as great games. It's not my thing. I just want something new.

Innovation isn't the only thing. If a game does it's style of game play extremely well and I'm having fun. That is perfectly fine. My most anticipated games this year do just that (Twisted Metal, Dead Souls etc etc) but I'm not much of a gamer anymore. It left me a long time ago and while i still follow up on news.
