How does reading effect your mental health? I've noticed that I'm happier and more productive when I read first thing in the morning.

I believe that reading on 4chan has actually made me a worse person.

It makes some crack. This one for instance >>20659969

It depends on what you’re reading, as much as the approach, I think

I work in a fast-paced and stressful work environment and I find that reading helps me shut off and calm down after work.

All of my coworkers complain about being unable to shut off after work but they all use drugs and alcohol to help themselves relax after work so they're all massive cokeheads who struggle with mental health.

I'd say that I'm 100% one of the most stable people in work with regards to my mental health.

I searched "person reading in bed" and all the results were of women.

This is true. Reading something dense can be irritating. Reading about Otto's attempt to gain control over the Church to solidify control over his Empire is /comfy/.

Negatively, yes. But it would be worse if I weren't reading.

I, unironically, think so as well.

It has ruined my sense of humor. Or at least it ruined my sense of humor as a means of connecting with people. I can no longer relate to things most people find funny. My friends and normie acquaintances will show me shit like Bert Kreischer and I roll my eyes at his chicanery. But I'll still chuckle at Baneposting, so I'm in no position to say that their sense of humor is any worse. It's just different.
