Also, what do you guys think of Hamza Yusuf? Most Muslims IRL like him, but online crowds love calling him a sell-out.

Personally, I think his stance that western Muslims have no choice but to engage with the west is more realistic than ultra-conservatives who want to isolate themselves.

I took arabic in college. Did terrible in it and never took it again. I learned Russian instead.

There are these really lovely hardcover editions of The Revelations of Mecca by Pir Press that I want to get in the future. They're not cheap though.
