i think if you go around looking at things as though they are anything other than the unique and nameless things they truly are, then you fuck yourself out of the true experience. deepen the image afterwards by all means, but first of all you have to actually witness it, and that means not blinding yourself with concepts of what you think it is, and just looking at it.

But besides that: Assigning a symbol to an object only makes it more shallow, because it narrows it in your mind. A lightbulb is a lightbulb, an eye is an eye. It's better to think about those things as they are, not adding any frills and bells or creating special rituals around them. I would even go further - try to strip them from that context and assigned meaning, as much as you can. That way you could appreciate them in the broader light. There's nothing more beautiful than tiny imperfections of the world, little irregularities of reality and clouding your vision with symbols and rituals sounds like the best way miss them.

How do I into icons without psychedelic drugs? Feeling so dumb these. I can enjoy dream interpretion and developing my inner symbology but in the waking world I can see nothing of interest... nothing that raises any questions, expect maybe the female body but they don't symbolize a lot of things and only make unable to focus on more important things.
