Start with at least 100 hours in Verdun MP. Then Storm of Steel and On Pain. IMO it's all trench war nostalgia.

reddit. Almost nobody sees 100 hours of direct fire combat and Junger almost certainly didn't let alone wiith the respawn and metagame junk

To understand Junger you need to immerse yourself in the experience of trench warfare, its spirit, sights, and sounds. Then having been seduced by the experience, you must experience the alienation of ordinary civilian life that denies you that ecstasy of being tortured in knee deep mud, exploding shells, and bullets over head.

>germanic tribes were responsible for the fall of the roman empire
Wrong, the romans were being decadent and soft. Mainly because of political and economic instability. By then, the Goths knew that their time was up.

>franks permitted jewish usury thus guaranteeing them financial power
Now that's fake news if I ever saw one. Measured by its capacity to endure, the Prussian nobility was the most successful in the modern history of Europe. The Junkers developed an ideology of conservatism that justified their control of a society that was becoming increasingly bourgeois. By 1750, the Prussian state imposed severe penalties on those Jews who practiced usury. During the Seven Years' war Frederick the Great would have no Jewish soldiers in his army; a yearly tax was paid instead.

>germany caused two world wars
The first world war was started by Austria or Serbia, depending on who you want to blame: a near sighted emperor or Serbian nationalism. The violence escalated when Britain wanted to impose its power on Europe coming to the rescue for Belgium (Belgium wasn't even invaded, Germany told them many times that they were only to be used as a passageway to France) because Britain cared so much about Belgium
>ww2
Germany & Poland had signed a non-aggression pact that Poland had nullified after creating a pact with Western powers against Germany, which implicitly violated the agreement. Hitler thus declared it null. Poland had begun drafting war plans against Germany (before Germany), and begged France/UK to start a war with them. Poland then fully mobilized their army, and many higher ups were starting to think they should launch an invasion against Germany now while the agreements with the Western powers were still fresh.

>nazis didn't implement democracy until the 1920s
Democracy is the most outdated and primitive form of government known to man. It has never been effective

>nazi alliance with arab muslims
Racist much ?

>realizes that hitler's 12 years in power now serve to discredit all forms of nationalism in the west
If only the coalition of the liberal nations didn't lie so much about him then this wouldn't have been the case. Resisting Germany in an area where Britain/America had no interest in, just simply to appease warmongers on the opposite side of the House of Commons, was the most ludicrous episode in history.

>realizes the threat germany poses to the civilized western world
Germany has no power anymore. Germany now is a commercialized vassal state used by the Eternal Anglo as the deployment zone for the war against Russia

Kaiser Wilhelm II actually sent a courier to Franz Joseph advising Austria not to declare war. If the courier had just reached them in time, then no war would've happened

What does Wagner have to do with Junger? I like them both, but I don't see any connection between them other than nationality, though I admit I've only read a few pieces from them.
