The OP pic makes me so sad because my sister and a few of my ex-gfs are like this and they're now all aging into their late twenties and early thirties, and confused that it isn't working anymore. I wonder how much of women's misery could be prevented if they just got having kids and starting a family out of the way while they were young, so they didn't base their entire identity on the perpetual edging session of "dating." Their behavior reminds me of things I did in my preteen and early teen years, dumb shit that is just funny in hindsight, like how I thought I was going to run away and join the Foreign Legion, or how I wanted to be a cool drug dealer so I lied and told people I sold weed. Women don't have the same character types, but it's the same energy of trying too hard to be "cool" and nobody giving them any honest feedback. But the reason nobody gave me any feedback at 14 is because 14 year olds are stupid. It's normal to give them space to figure things out. These women are 23-27 years old and their entire sense of self comes from the attention they get while dressing up as characters in movies they haven't seen. I've tried telling the women close to me that life gets both more mundane and paradoxically more exciting when you're no longer a twentyish person who thinks the world revolves around them, that somehow the other people on the bus know what movie soundtrack you're listening to on your "earbuds." I've told them that they could be any other college girl archetype and they would get just as much attention, that the attention is because of the "college girl" part of the equation and not the "archetype" part. But I'm just one voice in a life full of social media and ephemeral boyfriends validating them.

If you're a man you can't really get how hard it is for women. A woman hitting her late 20s and realizing she's just some anonymous random worker now is like the pain of going bald in your 20s, times a thousand. It's a freight train of "so this is it, my life is over."

I think, to abstract away from what you're specifically saying about /lit/ type younger women who aestheticize being a intellectual & "indie", women especially as they age, have very different baggage from men. Well put, I think. I realized that it is almost a moral imperative to make women aware of when they are being cringe, and they very often are, but their cringiness is immediately forgiven and ignored because they're put on pedestals.

To be fair, there's probably an equal amount of guys who are like this except their retort is more in the bitchy whore line. Forget Men or Women. How many humans fit this criteria:

>no real hobbies
>no car or meh car
>lives with parents or shit house
>works bullshit job (automated in 5-20 years)
>no real goals
>no real skills
>does not produce any real value
>does not really make society better
>only interesting thing in life is consumerism, social media, mainstream media, other bullshit
>does not stand by anything
>fake friends
>eats shitty fast food
>fake persona
>self-centered
>needs chronic validation & approval in order to do anything worthwhile
>worships celebrities and entertainment

And yet fits the bill for most Americans. Most people (men or women) really just fucking suck. Would you want to date someone with the above qualities? Of course not. Now imagine a generation like that all trying to find their true love. What a fucking disaster.

Yup exactly, and its because men are trained to worship women, as that one poster reveals. If you criticize men its totally fine, because men are just people, and are therefore open to both criticism and praise based on whether they deserve either. But women aren't normal people, they're angels lol, so even if someone like the original posters simply says what everyone's thinking and points out objective flaws calmly, there must be something wrong with him because he's dared to criticize women. Its understandable when women assent to this brainwashing because they perceive it as advantageous for them (although I would argue that in the long run, it isn't, having a big ego tends to bite you at some point) but its really disgusting when you can tell a man sees things this way, like he's just mentally cucked.
