Not the point at all, those romanticising the past simply forget all to often that nothing comes without attached strings and owning a house or a family or having a car doesn't make you happy on its own. Such a lifestyle still requires tremendous amounts of work to uphold which can and often does feel draining and trapping. It is both possible to be happy today and in the 1950's. It is not suddenly all well just because you like the artstyle of the time period better

I literally and unironically had that life in the 80s. It was a beautiful time. The smell of backyard grilling. Dad's homemade barbecue sauce. Neighbors leaning on the fence chewing the fat. Knew the name of every family on the street. Knew the name of every dog on the street! Sitting on the front porch with the old fashioned hand cranked ice cream maker as the stars come out. Radio set to oldies. Pot luck block parties, long folding tables laden with dishes. Street blocked off, games for the tots, big wheel races through the open fire hydrant. Halloween party around the campfire. Dozens of aunts and uncles and cousins on Thanksgiving. Foot-high snow days. The smell of fine clothes and leather gloves as everyone comes to deliver Christmas greetings in their very best dress. The literal jingle of the jingle bells and holly on the front door. Gathering round to watch fuzzy VHS recordings of Peanuts holiday specials. Kids playing on the big pile of ladies' fur coats on the bed in the guest bedroom. Drinking egg nog and spiced cider with just a touch of wine- it's ok, most of the alcohol has probably burned off. Sitting on the couch during those 12 Days toasty and warm in new socks just watching the snow fall.
