2 memes? This can't be real Finnegans Wake.

I didn't even connect that with the meme.

The fact that you said this is terrifying, considering I'm gearing up to read FW, and flattering, I guess.

Is úrscéal grinn turgnamhach le James Joyce é Finnegans Wake.

"riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay, brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs."

Y'all should listen to Terence McKenna talk about Finnegans Wake. It's 2 hours long, but compelling (and I haven't even read it or tried to read it).

are his books worth reading?

His more normal works "Portrait", "Dubliners", &c. are fine for what they are, which are well-written novels. A bit dry, maybe, but good if you like turn-of-the-century lit.
Ulysses is experimental in a predictable way, structurally. Every chapter is a new style after the first couple chapters. There are literary parallels (w/ the Bible, Hamlet, &c.) that you can follow if you know their inspiration. I loved Ulysses. It's great, imo. Use a guide, read it with someone else if you're lucky enough to know other people who would be interested.
Finnegans Wake, which I haven't read, looks intimidating on every level. I have no idea whether it's in fact worth it or not. I'm giving it a try this summer, when I have time. I'll be using "The Skeleton Key to Finnegans Wake" and any other help on the net I can find.
