the complex plane doesn't even really exists, you just sum the sin and cos of a particular angle in radians. it's a next little trick, but that's all it is.

that's not even it, you go from 1 to -1 along a pi length of arc of a circle and then go 1 unit inside the circle to arrive at 0. the euler identity is fucking stupid if you think about it. a more elegant form would either use tau or use 2 pi or just fucking would have the expression equal to -1. the meme identity is the worst possible form you could come up with. there is nothing elegant about it.
