Yes
I'll never be Keats or DFW or Pynchon
They're too good
I stuck at writing and I tell myself this every minute or two

I think a lot of it comes down to being at the right place at the right time. Sure, some people are born with natural creative talent and they can pump out content like a fucking assembly line, but I think a lot of it comes down to personal experiences. What can you draw from your life and put into your work? Lessons you learned? Hardships/trials you went through?
Also, how much do you read?

>What can you draw from your life and put into your work? Lessons you learned? Hardships/trials you went through?
A fair amount, I think. But that's not enough to write like Joyce, right?
>Also, how much do you read?
How much should I read

If you enjoy the act of writing then even if your work is shit it will be original and you can later look back at it like "yeah that was cool I guess"
If you don't enjoy it then idk, figure it out

If you write with the intention of trying to be "as good" as someone else, you'll always write shit. If you write with the intention of putting words on paper, you might eventually write something worth someone else's time. Simple as

don't judge a thing before you've even given yourself a chance to finish it. let future you worry about that

Being good at something has nothing to do with personal care or affection. Do something for 10k hours+ and you'll be good at it, but you can still hate doing it. Self-doubt is connected to feelings of endearment. I think writing is a useful skill, and the best 'creative' expression due to its infinite freedom. But, I have no special affection for it. Because of that, I don't care if the skill of writing is shit or not.
