I just say electronic (which would encompass IDM, drum n bass, ambient techno, etc.), metal & classical. if they don't know it, who cares? people should be able to realize that some people have "specialty" interests that not everyone may be knowledgeable about. you're making it way too fucking hard on yourself. seriously, you're the biggest kind of faggot.

I get that way when talking about iterature with other people. Do I just say Beckett? Is it fine to mention Daniil Kharms? Will they know who Géza Csáth is?

Generally I'll just say I'm into "weird shit" and hope for the best.

All my friends know bout all this shit. Aren't you guys in college/university? If you are, you should go to a better school or get better friends. If you aren't, move to NYC or London or whatever. You'll quickly find that a lot of people know a lot more about pretty much any subject you care about than you do.

How? There are only five and I've talked to all of them after classes fairly often. Whenever we started talking about theatre and I brought up my favorites, they didn't recognize him. One did say he'd heard of Waiting for Godot before.

None of them specialize in drama and they all seem to read exclusively within their specializations, so maybe it's normal.
