I'm new here, /lit/, and I've got a feeling you're not going to like me for this, but I'm really engrossed in this book right now.

It's not the most original concept, the dialogue is a bit unrealistic for average 16 year olds, and it's tinged with the distinct marks of any "young adult" novel,

But damnit, I'm really enjoying this.

That was a bit harsh. He did contribute by voicing his opinion on the book and inviting others to discuss the novel. Not every post has to be a question. What else do you want?

Why are you enjoying it? Think critically now, anon.

Because sometimes, it's nice to just sit back and enjoy a simple story unraveling, even when you know the ending.

I'm nearing towards the end of Looking for Alaska atm. I'm quite liking it. Same criticisms in your OP would fit but it's just easy reading and a story that's easy to get into I guess.

Might give The Fault In Our Stars a look eventually too.

I mean to read some John Green, if only because I find the bastard agreeable and a cool enough guy. Who would you guys say is in his artistic lineage? (who do you think inspired his writing)

oh, then i dont have much to contribute.

i once read a john green book because i heard good things about the dialogue style on here. will grayson was pretty good. it was nice to not read something "serious" for once, between reading notes from underground and the iliad.

Holy cow you remind me of a lit teacher I had.
Regardless, I love John Green and am planning on reading The Fault in Our Stars eventually.
