How has /lit/ changed your life in any way since you've discovered it?

I developed a misanthropic perspective that effectively ruined my life. Also received a recommendation here for the best book I have read (Stoner).

What exactly is it about /lit/ that relates to misanthropy? just curious

The fact that it is a board on 4chan.

I'd like to think it's because we're more intelligent than the people we're forced to associate with in our real lives, but more likely it's because we've been ostracized for various social deficiencies and we harbor subsequent resentment.

/lit/ has changed my way to write, mainly just for nanowrimo. Also i've developed a better taste for fiction in english. You bastards read only in your language, let's hope you guys get out of that isolated anglophone world soon.

Honestly, yes. Except on occasion, and it does pain me to say this, meaningful discourse does happen elsewhere. However no poster on /b/ is out to impress anyone, and that's something that constantly detracts from this site. All these "edgy" people thinking they have some sort of acerbic wit or unrecognized intellect come here, when in reality they're seeking approval, and they just want to get to know they're dads better, maybe see their dogs.

Most people would end up having an existential crisis anyway. I had one when I was like 6, I just rolled around on the couch while my dad was outside, and I cried for hours realizing every holiday, friend, and waking moment would pass and my atonal life may just end arbitrarily. I don't think I've killed anything since.

And that's why Nietzche is babby's first philosopher

You're really bad at getting your point across. Work on sentence structure a bit. A better start to the conversation would have been:

So, you claim you have good taste in literature and yet you are idiotic enough to want to punch a man because of a picture.

Not sure how those two are even remotely mutually exclusive, but I thought I'd help.

>> No.4208637

I went from not giving a shit about Marxism to absolutely despising it and all its proponents.

That's about it really. Kind of a repetitive board imo

Okay, well at first you did deny that 'bro'. You said you didn't know what I was talking about at all. And you are saying you have better taste than him and I was saying that I doubt you have any kind of taste whatsoever because you want to kick someones ass over a picture. Get fucked. Also I don't know this guy at all.

If.

I started visiting /lit/ a few days ago and it made me seriously consider to read a bunch of classics. I used to dismiss literature as useless, but now I'm afraid that I might be missing out something important out of plain ignorance.
I hope that one day I will be able to create something myself and share my thoughts and imagination with people around the world, but first I have to see what others have to say.

/sci/ on the other hand made me appreciate science, math and rational thinking itself. It gave me a push in the right direction and made me realize that we just have to continously endure frustation, failure and the shame of asking for help if we really wan't to achieve something. Reality is multifaceted and unforgivable, you can't expect it to bend down to wishful thinking. Confront yourself, say 'fuck it' and start climbing, or don't.

4chan itself made me realize how hard people, even or especially autists, try to fit in, and how that puts artifical boundaries on us by making us do and say things that don't do justice to our real selves. I used to say that I don't care about what others think about me, but I was lying to myself. Even when I'm writing or just thinking, I'm subconsciously restricting myself because of that.

Basically, that's how /lit/ and the other boards changed my life.
It's still shit, but it doesn't feel like it.

Please leave, I HATE your kind. It is okay for one to not care for literature, but to actually go and take that extra step and dislike it or spurn it makes me so angry.

You are actually defending retards when you do something of this sort.

Leave.
