Hello /lit/, I am searching for a word. It's been bugging me for a long time now.
Someone who isn't gullible, stupid or easily-mislead, but he's advantageous, smart, cunning, and a liar.
Often mentioned on a financial and economical level.
In my country, it is: 'bandoo2', for those who understand.
Help me, /lit/.

A mix of both, really.
He's an opportunist, and he could be a manipulator or at least holding a manipulator's malevolence.
I still can't find it, but I'm also not sure if it exists.

He does connive
>>4515486
He is willing to become thus for the money.
>>4515506
He's the type of person who can be a swindler and most-probably is, but it't not a part of the definition.
>>4515509
I understand your approach, but it doesn't cover all the aspects of the bandoo2 or manyak.

The problem is that the word conveys all these words and their meaning without ignoring any aspect of it.

You could explain what your word means

"He was a bandoo2; that is, in the (language) tong, at once (blah blah and blah)"

Sorta a cop out (maybe?) but it works

It's really a mix of 'opportunist', 'manipulative', and 'shrewd'.
A conartist without being nessesarily, by definition, illegal.
A mentalist without being, you know, a mentalist.

I know exactly what you mean, and in Romanian I'd say șmecher, but in English I can't think of any way to say it without resorting to figurative language--'shark' springs immediately to mind.
