Who is the David Lynch of literature?

>> No.4548302

David Lynch is an obscurantist hack whose entire MO is literally just weird-for-the-sake-of-weird, so, maybe teenage girls' poetry on deviantart.

David Lynch is James Joyce and Inland Empire is his Finnegans Wake.

I've only watched Lynch as a young lad, and I didn't pick up much from him. Twin Peaks is the only production of his that I enjoyed and recommend. Bunuel is much more interesting in the way that Lynch wants to be, but maybe I should re-watch Lynch as a wee older lad.

Pynchon: Surreal, satiric and every plot that is initially somewhat linear ends up being a red herring

>> No.4549050

I'm reading Obscene Bird of Night, it can be comparable to Lynch. It's non-linear, time and memory blend together, the point of view shifts seamlessly, the content is sometimes disturbing.

Look. You just don't understand the genre of film. Hell, it's hardly understood by the majority of producers and consumers. It's a very new medium compared to literature.
