c++ is full of features that are very difficult to use properly and result in absolutely terrible code from anyone who isn't very skilled in the language. if you learn c++, only use a small subset of the features because basically nobody knows how all of them work. you should probably just stick with c to be honest.

but why would you want to write those apps... i recall people on /g/ laughed on guys who made countless calculators for iphone and tried to sell them. there are constructors to write a simple app not knowing any language, and if you want to write a complicated app it will take a lot of effort and then you probably won't sell it anyway. and also you can write apps with any language, there are multiple frameworks for that

If your goal is to philosophize and die a wizard, then by your own definition you'd be successful.
You can also define success as an external force, it being what society and nature expect from you (money, sex, children, status).
You can also find a balance between those two.
