Why not ask Schopenhauer? :^)

I heard he was kinda cute.

He was roommates with Schelling and they were bros. I imagine he was chill. His lectures are a lot easier to read than his books so imagine he was just a pretentious ass in writing.

Everything he would say would be merely a moment or stage in a dialectical movement, so he would be jumping from one opposition to another while absorbing everyone of them. If you want him to make a promise keep in mind that he will not merely fulfill his promise but apply dialectics to it. This can be used to your advantage. E.g. if you sent him to buy some meat, he would not only bring vegetables along with it but produce a full burger. You just have to stop him at the right time before he goes further with the movement e.g. eats the burger and leaves you hungry, then gives you food stamps.

What makes you think he lived up to his philosophy? He might have been inconsistent between life and philosophy, thus in a very dialectical fashion avoiding the dialectic and proving that it's his personal bitch.

Very popular in the woman society of Berlin. Also probably raped his Catholic maid, since he doesn't like them.

He didn't write for other people to read..

Yes he did, he published the Phenomenology and was a celebrity in his lifetime. He wrote a textbook for his university classes to read.

Schop once said that Hegel sells his philosophy on the street. He basically called him a whore. He also put his university lectures in the same timeslice as Hegel's so students had to decide between the two. Nobody showed up for Schop. I doubt you will get an unbiased opinion :)

Shitty. I'm in China, alone, 2000km from gf, sick as a dog. It could be worse, though. The bed heater in my hotel room is kick ass.

btw, are you jewish?

Women may well be educated, but they are not made for the higher sciences, for philosophy and certain artistic productions which require a universal element.

Women may have insights, taste, and delicacy, but they do not possess the ideal.

I've read a lot of his letters and the pinkard biography.

He sounded like a pretty fun guy. He really liked to play the lottery and bought wine by the barrel (he drank a lot of wine).

Depends. Before he got famous, he was called the Old Man even if his youth. He was gloomy even when he was drunk.
