Today someone was trying to argue that Hitler was the first anti-christ or some such nonsense, to which I replied that there have been many people/groups worse than Hitler. Eg. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Japanese occupations during WW2...

Which do you think have been the most evil, villanous group in history?

Hitler was the only to do it systematically. You are attributing famine deaths to Stalin and Mao, Pol Pot wasn't on the same scale and the Japanese never set up camps, they would just sort of kill whoever was around.

Sade, Stirner and Nietzsche were philosophical anti-Christs. I don't see how Hitler was an anti-Christ, nor do I see how being an anti-Christ is a bad thing.

I don't think Stalin was really worse than Hitler, since Hitler started WWII.

Of those you mentioned only the Japanese and Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge come close to Hitler and chums. Stalin did some horrific things but he was really more about disregarding human life than purposeful genocide, not to mention mot Soviet citizens actually benefited from his crazy shit, and Mao's "kill count" is mostly accidental famine and the Cultural Revolution which wasn't on any level supposed to be about killing people. Hitler and Pol Pot are the only two of those whose crimes involved systemic mass murder as a core part of their ideology and worldview, while the Japanese may not have ever planned it but the potential was certainly there.

Stalin was a cold piece of shit who did a lot of horrible things, but he granted regular Soviet citizens social mobility they'd never known before, industrialised the USSR so that it could defend itself against an entirely hostile world, and with his death left a superpower that had enormous potential. He was the kind of leader who would do absolutely anything to preserve the system and the ideals left to him by his predecessor, even the worst things. That doesn't make him a good guy at all, but it makes him more than Adolf "I DON'T CARE IF WE'RE LOSING THE WAR GERMANY HAS FAILED ME YOU WERE WEAK YES CONTINUE GASSING THE JEWS UNTIL YOU PHYSICALLY CAN'T ANY MORE" Hitler. Trying to equate the two is a piece of Cold War propaganda.

Pretty much everything you said is relevant to Hitler or vice versa. Let's see shall we:

>Social mobility
Just like Hitler
>Industrialised
Germany was already industrialised, but industrial production sky-rocketed under the Nazis for the same reason (pre-war/War economy)
>System left by his predecessor, even the worst thing
One could argue Hitler thought he was preserving the ideals of German history (Charlemagne, Otto, HRE, 1st & 2nd Reich)
>I don't care if we're losing the war
A lot like Stalin's "throw the proles into battle with a tin can on their head and 5 rounds of ammo" c.1941

Trying to equate the two is common sense and pattern recognition, not propaganda.

Hitler's Germany did not encourage social mobility. The more extreme elements of the Nazi Party were purged in 1934 and they only got into power in the first place via compromise with the industrialists and bourgeoisie.

The Nazi economy was infamously disorganised and inefficient, especially during wartime. They controlled all of Europe from 1941 on but managed to extract only a fraction of the resources because of how inefficient it was.

Hitler's reckless actions and lackadaisical approach to both domestic and foreign policy would indicate he did a terrible job of even preserving his own regime.

And see, the war turns around in 1941-42 because Stalin, not being a retard, steps back from overall command of the war and allows his generals to conduct it instead. Hitler does the opposite.

There is very little to equate except both being non-democratic rulers at the same time. Stalin was a ruthless administrator and bureaucrat, a realist - Hitler was an ideologue driven by childish racial hatred and sentimentality. Both might be monsters if you're into that kind of simplified history, but to me one is substantially less awful than the other.
