Penultimate Peril should have been the plot for book 13, and just had everyone die in the fire. Would have satisfied me.

Troma is the only director who could handle goosebumps and make it not suck.

However Troma is also for lack of a better word very much "adult" humor, something the Goosebump series lacked. I'm not sure how many parents would actually want to take their kids to a Troma film.

Not at all too heavy for kids. I read it when I was 10-11 and I can't imagine what my early teen years would have been like had I read it at a later age. It was pretty integral in shaping views that I've developed regarding sexuality and religion (and not just in the 'religion is evil and terrible' way), yet it was presented in a form that can truly enthrall a child.

Of course, I missed many layers of meaning throughout it, but that's what re-reading when you get older is for.
