I don't think I ever regarded anything as the 'peak of film' but I certainly used to prefer watching older movies. Maybe I'm biased but I kind of liked that period because it gave me a chance to watch things well outside of my comfort zone, which was important for developing sound knowledge and appreciation of film as a whole. These days, I'll watch almost anything because the joy comes from being able to respond to things for what they are. It's the same with literature.

Personally, I recommend studying eastern philosophy, in particular Hinduism. It's absolutely true, but the secret door option is finding a way to express those suspicions rather than entertain or suppress them. This is hard because it takes a lot of confidence, but that's how it is. fitlit was unique because the board merging actually opened up the conversation to this problem. I went on /fit/ a couple times recently and they still talk about it lol, and it makes sense why. They loved being useful. I don't know why you are trying to imply that guy who told the story somehow is not proficient at language. It sounded to me like they were talking about pleb shit and ten went right back to it after he was done.

The failure of someone who is intelligent, well-read, articulate etc to fit in with plebs is not itself a great indication of how their social skills and language are. You could have a situation where you have the most brilliant and erudite person with impeccable socials skills who spends most of their around similar people but on one occasion goes to hang with a bunch of plebs but is bored by the conversation and not interested in any of the people there and so they are not as talkative. That would not mean they have bad social skills, that's just when one person finds another or others to be uninteresting, it's a basic fact of life and not a character flaw.

In the story he literally said they were having a low-brow conversation and that two differant guys starting to make rambling reaponses simultaneously to random shit this girl was saying because they wanted to fuck her. How much more obvious does it need to be that they weren't especially bright?

Again, clearly stupid people exist and you don't have to dumb yourself down to be around them, but if you have trouble engaging "low-brow" people then the problem is with you and not them. One of my philosophy professors, who has a PhD unlike you, can talk to the plebs in my classes no problem; he's written a 200 page+ dissertation and is getting a book published, but he doesn't hold himself up in some imaginary tower of erudition and intellectualism. He talks to people, because that's part of life--and guess what, most people you meet aren't going to be world class scholars, but you can learn something from everyone. Until you learn this you'll be justifying your pathetic "introversion" for your entire life.
