Sup /tg/ 40k newfag here, going to be buying my first models tomorrow even. I have decided i'm going to play imperial guard. I have been reading through the codex and i really like what i see. So can you offer me any tips to a first time IG player, and a first time player in general?

Make sure you don't buy any lame front of the line tanks, make sure that they act more like artillery, then surround your tanks with the infantry.
