No, there are two forms of liberalism: classical liberalism and reform liberalism. Classical liberalism is typically called conservatism and sometimes liberalism. Reform liberalism is sometimes called liberalism or democratic socialism. There are also authoritarian forms of socialism outside of liberalism, but pretty much the only ideologies popular in Western countries are some form of liberalism. You can call conservatives liberal and democratic socialists liberal and you'd be technically correct by this definition. The reform liberals however have gone viral and have mutated to become the HIV of civilization. They're killing society as a whole including classical liberalism. I think they're doing this as a scorched earth tactic because of the overall catastrophic failure of socialism both liberal and authoritarian, and they want to take classical liberalism down with them.
