Used bookstores feel fucking good

Peep the 1963 Tolstoy anthology on top. The original cover price was 75 cents (paid 99 cents for it today). It was a bit ratty but I fixed it up nicely.

Post your extra special book purchases lads

Sorry brah, but when you touch a book all of its essence doesn't transfer into your consciousness

Will admit I bought the Achebe book because littards said it was actually good and not just a "we wuz victims" spiel. Some friends recommended I read Camus and Tolstoy so I picked em up. I love Thoreau from my own past experience though.

That's all the merit I have on these books so far, hope it quells your frustration.

finished the book on Perec this morning. the criticism wasn't particularly in depth, it was more or less an overview of his oeuvre, though some of the facts and interviews were neat. has anyone read the Bellos biography on him?

The Strangers and The Plague are good, OP. Camus' literary style doesn't make his philosophy any less based

Things fall apart is only good for comedy. For a truly great read, try Heart of Darkness.
