Are you new to reading a lot?
Usually just by reading more you start to read faster. But it can also depend on the book you're reading. Sometimes I can finish a 400 page book in a few days but spend weeks on a 250 page book depending on the complexity of the text

the tests are telling you you're too slow because they're trying to sell you "speed reading" courses, which are a scam. if you want to read more books then devote more time to reading.

Have your eyes gaze over text at a constant and fast speed. Try not to make sense of each sentences. But the whole paragraph and general idea of the text.
