Am I a brainlet if I agree that the spectacle exists in the abstract but completely disagree with his proposed solutions?

No. That's the problem more or less every person erring on the side of Marx has had since Marx, up until Zizek. It's especially apparent in Zizek, who spends pages diagnosing the problem then prescribes a vague "radical socialization" in the final paragraph without explaining this any further.

Yeah, I've got a lot of /pol/ in me from back when I was really into that and I just can't jive with the overtly Marxist parts of the theory even if I do think that capitalism is not always necessarily a good thing and that as it exists now is probably destroying culture as we know it.

The spectacle doesn't seem like something that can be consciously destroyed. Debord said in 1974, "Young people everywhere have been asked to choose between love and the garbage disposal unit. And everywhere they have chosen the garbage disposal unit." I agree with Zizek in this, that we had better get used to living in piles of trash, and that meaningful social change will only come when the majority of people in the "first world" are confronted with ecological and interpersonal horrors on a daily basis. Even then, we might just get used to living in filth, like the poor do in some cities

how to you accept the spectacle without commodity fetishism, alienation, and class reproduction? that's what the spectacle is, only through images.

you're a special kind of retard if you keep pushing this shit each week and expect it to suddenly become popular again.
