I took a contemporary Novel class where the professor mostly had the syllabus picked out but let us vote on one text. When she asked for nominations I recommended Blood Meridian. It only got one vote, mine. A book by some Hindu woman won with 17 votes.

I actually got into an argument with a professor in my required into to philosophy on the first day of class. I studied philosophy before I got into real academic subjects like biology so I was pretty well versed in their particular brand of charlatanism, so when the professor started going over the arguments for the existence of God I couldn't hold back. I adopted the ontological argument to prove that pigs can fly and he had no real argument against me. He had to resort to modal logic to argue against me because philosophy is retarded. He asked me to leave for heckling but I got excused by the dean from having to to take the class again so it was a win win.

But due to my nervousness I messed up saying "Ludwig" and tried for at least 30 seconds to say his name and could not get it done. Everyone started laughing and when I finally got it I was so nervous I just began speed reading my notes and was probably undecipherable to anyone

In the late 80s there were scandals about displaying stolen native skulls in museums and the looting of a mound. Congress passes a law to prevent looting and the selling of looted artifacts and remains. When I took political science at my community college, my professor was a fat Jew who married a black woman (and talked about it, no shit, as one of his efforts to be less racist). He then told us about how he was racist for fighting to have his half-black child go to the high school that was physically farther away from their house in order for her to get a better education.

Then, the day after some cop shot some black kid on the news, he went on a tirade for about 30 minutes on how Republicans and police are racist, touching on pretty much every shooting of that type that had been in the news, and referred to the Mexican shooter of Trayvon Martin as a 'privileged white asshole' (I'm not joking). This culminated in him literally crying, saying that he knows for a fact Mike Brown was "murdered with intent" by the officer that shot him because "he was shot in the back running away".

Now at this time I was going through my libertarian phase and took this guy despite vaguely knowing who he was because I took a humanities course with a professor that was a friend of his, and he was an awesome dude that would entertain and take part in lively debate about the readings he assigned (The only person on my side at the time was some colossal former Marine that held a flag for Reagan's funeral or something and would constantly refer to what he watched in the documentary Zeitgeist, especially when another classmate, some 40-something year old woman, would relate her stories about being friends with a victim of [9/11, Sandy Hook, Apartheid, etc etc...]). Regardless the professor was awesome, and though he almost always disagreed with me we would talk through the subjects at length and he respected my positions and arguments against others'. Once he even brought a former student to talk at length about the themes of the Brothers Karamazov, which at the time I hadn't read.

There was a discussion in class, mostly English major Juniors in my private university, about quality and accessibility in literature. I was defending that we should cultivate standards, and though they shouldn't ever be enforced as universal standards or objective truth, developing and defending our own aesthetic standards leads to much more personal flourishing and the creation of better art and thought than vague consumer-populist "there's a flavor for everybody and that's okay" bullshit. It seemed like a portion of the class was following my line of thought and considering it, but then some bitch, probably deliberately misunderstanding me or not listening to what I was saying, said:

"I just don't think books need to be hard to read to be good."

So I said very loud and like a sperg "That is not what I'm saying, that is not what I'm saying! I am saying The Little Prince is a great book and Harry Potter is bullshit!" and then I lost the whole class and some of those people gave me dirty looks for weeks afterwards.

After the Trump election, the history, anthropology, and probably couple other departments had all their staff give brief talks during lectures denouncing Trump and the the Republic party, and saying "it's ok to cry", and other consolidating messages. It was pretty uncomfortable for the minority of conservatives in the classes which was pretty ironic. And it was the moment my perception of my professors was ruined.

I once argued in high school that we shouldn't force gender quotas on literary fairs or any other facet of the literary world or else we'd be endorsing segregation over actual equality, because by treating men and women different, no matter how good your intentions are, you'd be simply widening the gap between them.

I must have some kind of Aspergers-Lite or something, because I have a very hard time communicating verbally. I was giving a report on Snow Country in my undergrad. I was very nervous because there were a lot of people looking at me and my report kind of veered into a ramble about how awful the protagonist was and how the deuteragonist deserves so much better. My Psychology of Human Sexuality professor spent the first five minutes of each week's lecture in the leadup to November 2017 showing us Hilldawg flashmob campaign ads. I had to take an ethics course as part of my degree and got stuck with some simpering limey cocksucker as my professor. For some reason he always looked like he'd just come from the sauna, red face and perpetually damp clothes. The dumbest topic he brought up was incest; he had asserted that if two hypothetical siblings had a loving and nurturing relationship, but just so happened to get drunk once and have a good fuck, that we shouldn't judge them negatively because the experience was consensual and could lead to a deeper love and mutual respect between the two. At the time I was younger and more naive, and didn't really know what to say to something like this. I almost went for the birth defects argument but thought against it because prophylactics exist, so instead I basically just said that an interaction like that ruins the ability of each of the siblings to meaningfully pair-bond with other people, because it's impossible for someone outside of their relationship to mimic their emotional responses and achieve the same depth they have with each other. It wasnt the most coherent argument, I know, but I didn't know what to do when confronted by something this insidious in the classroom.

That sign has been very confusing to me because I never keep up with all that political junk. To be honest I'm in political science in a hyper leftist university and city, and I've had to deal with next to no SJW bullshit. Even this semester, I signed up for a course called "international violence and its containment". Well, apparently there was a fuck up, because the first lecture was the prof explaining how the class is actually about race and media. It was the only class that fit my hectic schedule so I had to keep it, but it's been completely fine. The prof has explicitly said it's valid to look at race as something biological even though perceptions are heavily influenced by socialization. We had to write a little paper on white privilege and I know a dude who wrote that it didn't exist, and he got a pretty good grade.
In terms of people, I just don't hang out with SJWs, it's pretty easy. You can always tell if someone is going to be one by the way they speak and hold their shoulders, so I don't go out of my to make friends with them. Most of my friends are pretty socially and politically conservative. People complaining about the SJW apocalypse are just a bunch of hysterical losers with nothing going on. If you don't want to engage with SJWs, it's very very easy to ignore them.

I'm a fourth year that studies physics at a school that's entirely stem-focused so I never really get the chance to sperg out about this.
I hang out in a physics major social club type of thing and a couple weeks ago me and my friends were having dinner on Friday night with some second years from the club.
One of my friends was trying to remember the story about Sartre doing mescaline and then seeing crabs follow him around for years. He remembered it was some philosopher, and he doesn't read so he didn't know who, and these three second year guys are in a fucking intro to philosophy class and they seize the opportunity to just pop off every name they can think of starting from fucking Descartes (which they mispronounce). My friend goes, "No, I think it was like a modern guy, like French," and they settle on Sartre and he says yeah I think so and then they laugh at him for not calling Sartre postmodern. Then they spent the rest of the meal talking about the Myth of Sisyphus while I quietly seethed. They genuinely delighted in the assumption that nobody knew the super deep philosophical concepts of fucking Camus.
I didn't say anything because I didn't want to seem like even more of a pompous ass and because they're just 19 year old pseuds that wouldn't take it to heart anyway. I did make sure to take my friend aside after and tell him they were pricks and that he was right in the first place, though.

Everyone at my school has to take a babby-level political science class. I put mine off until junior year, so in the bi-weekly "discussion session" I was surrounded by freshmen working themselves into hysterics over whatever Drumpf had done that day (this was immediately during/after the election).
Our TA was this cool Ukrainian grad student who was just trying to teach, but there were a handful of people (3 or 4, all tumblr stereotype thots and one flamer) who would just yell over him whenever he was trying to speak (keep in mind, most of the course was about the founding fathers and revolutionary war shit). No matter what we'd be "discussing" they'd just tangentially relate it to Trump. This included standing on desks, calling people fascists when they told them to settle down, and showing people laughably bad photoshops of Trump wearing KKK uniforms. Eventually the TA would just sit at his desk and let them preach.
He wrote a little note on my final essay thanking me for being "civil" and I felt really bad for him.
